Absolutely love my Abyss 1266 Phi TC. Purchased a few weeks ago from a guy who was moving to a bigger house with a dedicated music room and no longer needed headphones. The headphones were in mint condition - absolutely no difference than if I'd have unboxed them from new and then worn a few times on my own head. I have no problem buying new - and indeed I might buy a newer Abyss in the future - but if a decent used pair come up for sale then I say jump on it!

This sounds kind of harsh on the sellers. Assume a small audio store has a 1266 in storage for a year until they sell it to a customer in mint condition and unopened - which I think is perfectly reasonable. If the customer then calls you for a warranty extension you tell them they didn't buy new? That audio store will not sell an abyss headphone again.

I think this is helpful... You may not be worried about selling used models but a value stream of support from purchase to End of Life is always helpful to your brand and customer support. You don't want to get in the middle of a used sale but supporting a resolution to fix a problem on a used hp is always a good idea. Promotes strong brand ambassadors as they will be likely to purchase new units in the future as well as influence others. The purchasing on the used market also frees up funds for the original owner to buy new versions as well.

You guys should really consider going forward with a less confusing system. Major changes like the drivers or baffling/acoustics? Now the AB-1267. Update the coating or hinges? Now the AB-1267 Version 2. This would make tracking changes easy. You could keep a running list of patch notes. What about the Diana and Diana Phi? Give them a secondary name in line with the AB-1266. The original Diana could be the AB-1000 and follow the same system. Diana V2 would be the AB-1001. Diana Phi could be AB-1100. This could be listed on the headphone somewhere visible but not overly obvious. You could also put the date of manufacture next to the serial number.

Used all the way. The improvements along the way are evolutionally not revolutionary. You can buy a used 1266 OG for 2k. It gets you into the game. If you have the money, the TC is definitely better but one is going from amazing to more amazing.

Re warranty: does this mean if i am the original owner and just bought it from an authorised dealer but it was manufactured 6 months ago and he has been sitting on this stock for a few months then i do not have one year warranty and can not register it for the 3 year warranty because it was not new /just manufactured? Shouldn’t warranty start at time of purchase? (around 11:30 minutes into video). I hope i have that wrong as that’s a bit of a worry
@ABYSSHeadphones4 жыл бұрын
You should ask your dealer if the product is brand new, never used, factory sealed. This is a requirement to qualify for the 3 year extended warranty. Price and common sense tend to reflect condition as well. If in doubt, abyss-headphones.com only sells factory fresh headphones.
@Peter_Crow4 жыл бұрын
@@ABYSSHeadphones sure. But if the item was produced, say 6 months ago, and i buy it from the dealer new, factory sealed, i got the impression from what was said on the video that the warranty started when the hp was made and not when it was purchased by me and in some of the conversation in the video i was worried as this would not be considered as “new” as it was not recently made (but 6 months old). I don’t know how much stock dealers rotate (or how quickly) but perhaps it wasn’t clearly or accurately explained. You may want to re look at the vIdeo perhaps if the wording/description was incorrect. Just mentioning it in case you might be doing yourselves a slight disservice. . Cheers
@Peter_Crow4 жыл бұрын
I just saw this on your website where it states the warranty starts at time of a new purchase from an authorised dealer and not from time of production that was firmly /strictly highlighted in the video (in case that helps anyone else and yourselves re what is being put out here). abyss-headphones.com/pages/abyss-warranty-information Thanks again

@@exol511 How is that a scummy move ? I have a large collection(8 pairs) of headphone (1000$+) and probably 6 pairs under a 1000$. At least 2 pairs come to mind I bought them and received them, tried them and hated them(One I couldn't try in store and the other one I only tried it 15 min because of covid and the sales person not wanted me to tried them properly) ... either were giving me too much fatigue or sounded terrible with too many songs. I think headphones of this price have a huge enough margin that this is part of the "VIP" experience that you can just decide that it's not a good fit.

Exactly how can you justify selling earpads for $400?
@Tential14 жыл бұрын
They're selling luxury headphones at $3,000 and above what did you expect? They can justify because people have been willing to pay for it. Personally I would expect myself to spend an additional thousand dollars on accessories for something like this. So unless I was willing to spend $4,000 in the headphones for the headphones plus replacement cables because I know I'm going to break them I wouldn't buy it.
