For apartment maintenance technician, do I need to have a certificate for hvac? Thanks
@ApartmentMaintenance6 ай бұрын
It definitely helps but starting out you don't. The management company you work for will pay for you to get your EPA certification to legally handle, transport, recover, reclaim, recycle refrigerant. But remember, just cause you have an EPA certification doesn't mean you know how to work on HVAC equipment. You either need to go to school or learn from a seasoned technician & have on the job experience to know how to properly fix the equipment. @@ApartmentMaintenance my apartment outside ac fan isnt spinning when the ac is on. Maintenance have came and fixed twice already, it was fine for one day and it stopped spinning the next day. What do you think the cause is? And should I turn on my ac while the fan isnt spinning? Thank you!

@@kevintran9411 It's honestly hard to say without seeing it. But the fan motor could be going bad & once it gets too hot it's shutting off from its thermal overload. It's basically a protector for the motor.

its not my contactor as it actuates on and off but its constantly recieves 24v of power even when turned off at base.
@ApartmentMaintenance7 ай бұрын
Sounds like you either have a bad thermostat or one of the wires is shorted out & touching the other one causing 24 volts to constantly go to the contactor. Thanks for watching tilvalhalla9343 & help support the channel by subscribing 🛠️👍

So was the contractor just physically stuck in the closed position, meaning there was no power to the coil to pull it in? And you pushing on it just freed it loose? Thanks.

Yep the contactor was stuck in the closed position with no power going to it & yes when I pushed on it with the power off it freed up & was no longer sticking in the closed position. But it's not worth the headache to leave it on the condenser so I just replaced it with a new one. Thanks for watching TheHedgemo60 & subscribe to the channel 👍
