Great stuff man! This one is on my everyday practice list. But I play the Angus stuff on this one except solo. One of the few that I like his stuff better than Mal’s. You play this really well 👍👍

great as always!! thank you! About the Bridge leading into the chorus: it could very well be that live he's doing it different compared to the record. On the "live at river plate" you can see this (the big g chord), but: I also noticed that on this "live at river plate" concert there are lots of "cutting / editing issues". meaning: you sometimes see stuff played, which you can't hear. So I guess if we're trying to figure out, what he is playing live, we shoud keep this in mind :) for example in the beginning of "shook me all night long" you can clearly see Malcolm play, but you do not hear him. It's during the 1st verse rhythm riff of Angus. And I think whoever did the cutting and editing of this live concert did not do a perfect job.
@malpractice59048 ай бұрын
Yeah. Exactly. I talk about that part during the lesson part. Second half of the video. You definitely see him playing an open G chord. Many times things are played different live. Good observation!

Awesome job per usual, brother! Quick question: is that a Gretsch custom shop Malcolm Young Salute Jet you’re playing or is it one of the non-custom shop models from Gretsch?
@malpractice59048 ай бұрын
It’s built by a guy in the UK. He builds them to the exact as you get specs of Mals guitar. I always wanted to play that 10K Salute to compare but I can’t imagine it being any better. And thanks man!

One thing I think you articulate in these lessons is people need to understand just how little distortion Mal used. Angus also, essentially dimed plexys give you that sound. I’m a big fan of the

Exactly. His tone is pretty clean. Hits the strings really hard.
@ironsausage8087 ай бұрын
Man you’re correct. I listen to let there be rock and think the same thing. Who would not want to hit it hard like that? Fucking no one . lol. Mal fucking ruled.

Last night I took a big rip off a bowl, and plugged in my old fender blues jr. Amp with a el hombre dirt box with just a little gain and started hitting it hard for my wife. I could tell she was into it, even though she acted like she wasent. I played high voltage for her and she finally said that fucking Rick’s. lol.

great job on this one.. ISO tracks are priceless for Mal.. as I think he free played a lot live.. just got in a groove.. i hate these timing songs as i get stuck in one thing and cant seem to get it out of my brain.. Hey, is that a 70's era ES335?.. block inlays.. ?? nice..
@malpractice59048 ай бұрын
Hey man. Yeah the timing on this one takes some patience. I must have listened to that isolated track 50 times. That’s a custom shop 335. Best guitar I own. It’s just incredible. I forget what year it’s based off.
@bjstein42428 ай бұрын
@malpractice5904 those block inlays look just like my 1976 SG.. it was after 1971 as Angus had normal inlays.. then Gibson changed things.. so those inlays were 1971 to 1978 ish I think..things went back to normal around 79..I believe Larry Carlton played a 68 with those same inlays.. late 60's on the Es355..
@malpractice59048 ай бұрын
@@bjstein4242 I just checked, it’s a 64.
@bjstein42428 ай бұрын
@malpractice5904 ok males sense..the 60's ES had the small blocks..like Larry Carltons 68 he loved.. the SG's adopted raise small blocks in the 70's on the standards.. very cool..
