Mate, you might see the white stripes but on the setup you can see the C5 compound :)

I dont know whether it's something i did wrong or a mod I haven't enabled, but all the tires show with the white stripe. But yeah I did use the C5 tire, which is the softest one.

Thanks again for all of your hard work. Love your videos and as soon as I uploaded your settings I was able to get my lap time just under 1:46 (which is PB record for me). Mind you, I had to adjust the MGKU to ATTACK mode right before starting my flying lap in order to achieve this time. Is this is something you are also doing since I saw you set the MGKU to NO DEPLOY in your setup.

Thank you for your comment! I personally use 'No-Deploy' since I find it easier for corner exit. Spa is very long, so having it on attack would mean you'd run out of battery by the end of the lap. So I manually deploy, so I get to choose when the battery is deployed.

@@ntst22 You are absolutely correct about running out of battery! I did notice this, but didn't really know what exactly was happening. I am kinda of like Cole Trickle from Days of Thunder - I can get in the car and drive, but don't really know how to set up the car to make it go faster. If you don't mind me asking - how do you manually deploy the battery? Is it the KERS activation button? And are you deploying this mostly along the straights? Thank you!

Don't say that about yourself 😅 Gotta start somewhere :) And yes, it is the KERS Deployment button that allows you to manually deploy the battery. I deploy it from La Source to halfway down the Kemmel, then from No-Name to just after Pouhon, Stavelot to around Blanchimont, and save just a tiny bit of battery for the run up to the finish line.

I personally like to use that curb on entry to help with turn in. Other than that, I'd aim for a slightly earlier apex. Pouhon is very deceptive and it can be very tempting to aim for a middle, or even late apex. But generally in high downforce cars, a slightly early apex is ideal.

Hello mate, I did ok lap times with your setup with my G923 with its settings. Now I'm thinking of joining WSS's 44 laps of Spa race event tomorrow evening. Do I need to change the setup completely for the race trim or are there just a few important things to change? Obvious things are liters of fuel, tyre compounds (medium and hard I guess) & tyre pressures. I saw in an earlier comment that I need to atleast incr. MGU regeneration and decr. MGU output. If you have the time to reply or figure out mate, how about the setups of brakes, suspension etc.? Thanks in advance and BR from Finland! 🏎️

Hello! Sorry for the late reply, hope your race went well. I think you got the gist of it for the most part, and I would do all the things that you've mentioned. For brakes, should be changed throughout the race depending on the balance. As for suspension, I think the only concern is on full tank, car may bottom out through Eau Rouge, so might have to stiffen the rear suspension, or raise the ride height of the rear. Hope you had fun!

@@ntst22 Hi again, no worries mate. I think I worked it out. Finished the race with decent lap times laps 34-44 as well, without anything overheating etc. P7 to podium P3 really good! 👍 Only 6 cars of 15 finished the race. Happy hot lapping and racing you just got yourself a new subscriber 🙂

Somehow the ERS stops working after 2 laps (or roughly 3 minutes), makes it hard to pick up pace and adapt.

For race trim, need to increase MGU regeneration and potentially decrease MGU output. Very hard to do more than 1 push lap especially around Spa.

Hi, I believe the battery capacity is set by the data.acd file, which is intended not to be changed. I would recommend managing the battery, or contacting RSS if you would like to change the battery.

tire pressures just for one hotlap? RSS suggest 25 front, 24 rear as the optimum numbers

Yes, those are tire pressures for just one lap. You can see in the tire app at the center, bottom of the screen that the tire pressures do get a bit higher (for the rear) - but that's at the end of a very technical S2. So if the tire pressures get a bit too high, it can be managed by either dialing back the driving a bit, or by lowering the tire pressures a bit (although you risk blistering/overheating the tire by doing so).

Try binding ERS and DRS button. Setup has deploy off (means you will have to manually deploy the ERS). DRS will help in DRS zones (front straight, kemmel straight).

Could be 1 of 2 things. Or both. 1) In the video, I manually deploy the ERS button. Make sure you have a 'KERS Deploy' button bound, and manually deploy the ERS (or choose an aggressive ERS deploy setting) 2) DRS button may need to be bound for the front straight.

Conditions are pretty important. Impacts engine power and tire temperature. I used 10c ambient, no wind.

If there would be one, I would say you'd lose a few tenths by not extending track limits the whole way.

@@ntst22 Well, it has to be quite a lot since there is a 1:40.7. I think an outstanding F1-legal lap is around 1:41.5. So, maybe a delta of around 0.8 due to track limit violations (compared to that WR time). My current (first session) F1-legal lap would be around 1:41.8 (since I have 1:42.0 but lost 0.20 the only time I accidentally left the track - went from -0.14 to +0.06). Hopefully, my wife will let me do 1:41.5 during the second session. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes and no. Yes - in real life it would be a penalty. No - in-game it is not. They allow different track limits at certain points in the track. Notable track limits: exit No-Name, exit Les Fagnes, Stavelot. Like mentioned, although it would invalidate a lap in real life, fortunately, it is allowed it game.

Yes, I think the 2023 car is slightly slower than the 2022 car. Mostly in a straight line though. The car feels a bit more draggy than last year, so I had to resort to a low down-force setting, and lose a bit of time in the corners. Overall, although the times are slower than last year, I think it's more realistic this year.
