That must be the nicest Sergeant in the RAF, must be for the camera I would like to think. I would hate to think it was possibly "can't offend " PC b0ll0x. Don't remember them being so nice at Swinderby. Those shirts (blouses) would have been thrown all over the place and the rest of the locker emptied all over the floor just for good measure, with words, every second word a profanity from the inspecting NCO or SNCO. Also since when do Male DI's inspect Female kit or go in Female Barracks. It appears lots has changed over the years.

Was thinking the same thing! I truly hope it was for the camera. If you have not got the hang of ironing your kit at 21days...! Jeeeezus!!! It would be more appropriate for a female inspection NCO to be carrying out inspections of females and their personal kit. This really is the better way.

Instructors are not allowed to go through your personal kit. You do however have to keep your personal locker clean and tidy and they are allowed to have you open the door so they can check visual that it's squared away.

@@malcolmcave1613 Malcolm, thank you for that. But it still is out of order for a male to carry out an inspection of a female in the absence of another female.
@malcolmcave16133 жыл бұрын
Not really because he isn't touching her it is a visual inspection. You can't always be PC in a war zone. The military what happens in the army nowadays with females being in the infantry were there is a heavy majority of males having to share battlespace. The reality doesn't always meet people's expectations or standards if they don't fully understand the military lifestyle.
@LaHayeSaint3 жыл бұрын
@@malcolmcave1613 Malcolm, for such situations to be squeaky clean, it is best for the male to have a female NCO accompany him during inspection. Taking precautions is never a bad thing.
@malcolmcave16133 жыл бұрын
Well serving nearly 12 years in the military I can tell you that isn't always feasible. Women in the military just want to be treated like the men, treated equally. The men don't get male supervisors if a female nco or officer is inspecting them.

At Bridgnorth 1960, Cpls didn't go quite as hard on regulars with educational quals as on those who didn't, presumably because the next time you met you might be a Rodney, Wobbly or Snec and he might not. National Servicemen had the worst time with their kit constantly thrown in the coke bin at inspections. Still, as was pointed out to us, it was only while we were at 7S of RT. Many DIs then were in the rôle permanently and hoped to become SWOs. Most had to be satisfied with being a universally loathed Sgt in the SWO's office. A different and better breed of DI now IMO with experience of the real RAF to which they would return.
