Depends on the object type as interpreted in ACA. I believe you can use Drape to convert the point data to an object that will display in sections.

Jeremy, do you help with troubleshooting roof layouts of custom plans already drawn? I'm comfortable with simple roof layouts but have a fairly complex roofline that I cannot get to work out.

Great video but how do you display topography along with the section? I already can display the terrain data from Civil 3D in plan view by using the Civil3D Object Enabler but the terrain is still not visible in the section.

asbaDoce hello sir. would you help me how can I design high rise building ? the problem I faced is that how can I overlap one floor to the other to design like G+4 or above ?

i have a question about using the elevation command on a house with walls that are different heights the entrance is in front 5' lower than the front walls and one wall is higher then the entrance and crosses over and touches the roof of the gable entrance. i was trying to do this as a model but the wall projects up to gable but how do i get it to go over and also rest on gable entrance. If the way i worded this is confusing can i email you and show u a description

Wow just what I've been looking for. To go back a few steps. I first want to learn how to draw or place one floor above another then add stairs. I can draw the plans using ACA but get lost when I want to section a multi storey building. Thanks Jeremy
@jeremytf779 жыл бұрын
+Gerry Jamieson For mutli-level building, some things that you will need to master include: using 3D views, for example, using a standard isometric view you can literally move level of a building to set it on top of another level. Once you're in an isometric view, this only requires the regular old move command and OSNAPs. I have a video of basic 3D if you need to review this. To get the stacked plans readable in plan view (or to draw a second level in place), you need to understand Display Configurations and cut plane heights. I also have a video on that topic.
@GerryJ089 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeremy. I find your tutorials easy to understand (English) & easy to follow (not racing from one command to another).
@jeremytf7712 жыл бұрын
Go into an isometric view. Use the move command to move the upper floor from its bottom osnap to the lower floor’s corresponding top osnap.

jeremytf77 really I like and appreciate your tutor. but would you help me how can I design a high rise building ? because my problem is creating the upper floor to the lower floor or vise versa .
@markwittekind625011 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your tutorial videos! They are very helpful.
@jeremytf7712 жыл бұрын
@cobipal1 With the move command. This is easiest in a 3d view, like an isometric view, to make sure you get the right osnaps.

if I decided that the default ACA callout block for the section or elevation looks ugly, can i supply my own block? or is it possible to just draw a section line and then manually add my callout block?
@jeremytf779 жыл бұрын
Adam Ambrus Any of the above... I would probably just create your own dynamic block - dynamic so that you can adjust the length of the line below the title. Use attributes for the text fields.

heeeellllppppp...I have a question, I do the same steps, like you for generating my Project Elevations and all work just fine with west Notrh and East elevation, but when i try to do the South elevation the System allways fall down it just does not work. I think ist no a problem with the layout, cause i did probe to generate another Elevation in the west saide and works...what could be the problem??? HELP ASP.. i have to finish my Project!!!! really happy if you can save me!
@jeremyfranklin26319 жыл бұрын
Maurizio Fedullo troncoso I can't help without more information. What does "system allways fall down" mean? Is the program crashing? Are you getting an error message? Do you mean something else? Please be specific.
@maufetro9 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Franklin...Hi! Jeremy...( sorry for my English... it is a little bit rusty) well i´ll tri to explain. When I try to generate an Elevation, the program just take too long or doesnt work anymore. I check in the Task Manager and always says that the program doesnt Work. I hope you understand what i mean.
@jeremyfranklin26319 жыл бұрын
Maurizio Fedullo troncoso Could help if you audit, purge, include fewer objects in the elevation (if possible), review your computer's hardware specifications versus what Autodesk recommends, and install service packs for your ACA.
@jeremytf7711 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you mean by "doesn't work." If your project is only 2D, then you can't expect to be able to pull sections and elevations from the it. You could draw in 3D in AutoCAD and then do sections/elevations of it in ACA. But if the file was made in AutoCAD, it won't work exactly the same way.

ok .. wt i didnt get is .. yu did the elevation for the plan I mean if i have like 3 floors .. I separated them to draw the functions inside so how do i get the elevation? what should I do with the plans ? should I put them all together or ??

@sinzghi11 жыл бұрын
why mine doesnt work? is that why because i drew my plan in cad 2013 and opened it in ACA?
@jeremytf7712 жыл бұрын
I assume you're using version 2013? There is a bug in 2013 that keeps sections and elevations from generating in a hidden view. I can't post a link here, but go to Autodesk's website to download the service pack to fix it. You can find it with a search on their website.
@jeremytf7712 жыл бұрын
If you want to pull elevations from a 3D model, then you will need to think in 3D and work in 3D. So that means a full 3D model of the building. One way to accomplish that, if you have separate plans, is to move them on top of each other. Use an isometric view to do this, just like I explain the comment below yours.

thanks for sharing your knowledge, it is greatly appreciated. Do you have a tutorial on how to stack floors in ACA and how to keep floors separate...layers, etc?
@jeremytf7711 жыл бұрын
If you want the layers to remain separate, then I would draw the floors in separate files. Position them with the same relative position to 0,0. Then XREF them together into a combined file where you can stack them three-dimensionally.

Hi, thanks for the helpful tutorial! My problem is that the lineweights in elevation view become the same, whereas in plan view they are set to the lineweights which I set for each wall and stair, etc. This is really aggravating as I can't figure out why the lineweights don't show up in elevation view!
