Academic Advising

Academic advisers play an important role at Penn State. They help students determine their goals and interests in order to determine which of our more than 160 majors is the best fit for them. They also help students schedule courses, pick up additional majors and minors, and make sure they are on track to meet graduation requirements for their chosen major.

If I teared up a little at the end does that mean being an advisor is my path? haha I've looked at so many different majors and I think its the strong feeling of confusion that has led me to think maybe I should help people with their career paths?

susuilu I think she means after she’s already met them - she knows the students she’s helping so when she looks at her list she’s seeing their faces and can think of who they are - they’re not just names on a paper
