Academy 1/35 Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer Unboxing

In this episode we unbox Academy's popular 1/35th scale Hetzer kit. Due to its similarity to the recent Tamiya 38(t) kit we also do a comparison to get a better understanding of the Academy brand which unfortunately doesn't enjoy the same level of appreciation as does Tamiya. Our product line shows the amazing variety of kits available on the little Hetzer, attesting to the popularity of the vehicle with armour fans.

Like your review style! Good job, though I disagree with your direct comparison with Tamiya. Academy has upped their game, but in terms of quality and engineering, generally speaking Tamiya is one step above Academy. That being said, great review.

It's hard for anyone to compete against a powerhouse like Tamiya; they've been the gold standard for half a century. But in Academy's defense, in recent times, their prices are generally lower than Tamiya. What we give up in overall quality we make up in cost savings. But I think your analysis is spot on. Loved hearing your perspective.
