This video demonstrates how to place a dental sealant. Sealants are thin coatings placed on the chewing surfaces of the posterior teeth (in the pits and fissures) to help prevent cavities, and are mostly placed on children. Sealants are only used to aid in prevention and are not a substitute for proper brushing and flossing.
