As a stop motion animator, I gotta say, stop motion is pretty incredible, but I have tried to doing 3D animation with blender, I even took a class on it, I am amazed you are able to animate in 3D. All in all, every form of animation is super cool, even the dullest types of animations have complex peaces.

considering they have to do all those things the most intricate way and seeing them do it with so much effort, passion and dedication to their craft makes me adore and respect them even more just to give us such one of a kind films/movies with incredibly amazing creativity and story that takes you to a different side of the world and leave you in awe (e.g. BoxTrolls, Paranorman and Coraline). with all of them doing such stuff, they should be given more than enough of what they deserve.

Kubo and the Two Strings and Sausage Party released around the same time. Kubo has a PG rating, it's budget was $60 million and has managed to make $50 million so far. Sausage Party with a R rating and a budget of $19 million has already crossed the $100 million mark. This speaks a lot on what appeals to the general audience. I sincerely hope this movie gets the recognition it deserves.

+K a lot of great movies don't make much money because of these mediocre movies. Pitch Perfect 2 beat Mad Max: Fury Road this year, and I'm pretty sure Star Wars: a Rogue one story is going to beat Scorsese "Silence" with Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield, and Adam Driver. Sad to think of it, but Hollywood wants money first, then art.

The one problem I see with stop motion now, is the lack of personal touch. Look at wallace and gromit, they didn't care about the fingerprints. The where fine with you knowing that the harectars where made of clay. Whereas with something like this, it might as well be made using 3d animation, because you wouldn't see a difference.

How on earth do they get the movement to look so smooth and fluid like that? It seems like it would be so difficult to make the minute adjustments to his posture each frame, while at the same time making sure that the animation looks right/remembering where his weight is/how he's moving ect. Seems like it would be a million times more effort than CGI.
@AllieHutchins

A stratedgy Aardman used to use, was to film someone doing the motion, then draw out each frame, then making sure everything is set up for the frame, before taking it. They would usually only do a few frames per day.
@antsgaming

It's a software they use I wondered that myself in the past but now I know what software they use
@adamkimmV
@adamkimmV 7 жыл бұрын
Static Flickable No stop motion can look perfectly smooth without any special software. It just requires loads of tiny movements, at least 30 per second, and it wil look just as smooth as video footage of a person.
@whatshouldinamemyself481
@whatshouldinamemyself481 7 жыл бұрын
Adam Kimm What makes an animation smooth is the arc, not the frame rate. If they don't use any softwares they'd have to adjust the position every single frame they shoot to make sure they follow the arcs. Just imagine how much time that'll take. So I think they use softwares

Much respect to all of you for providing the medium of stop motion animation to the masses. It’s such a wonderful art form and until you try it for yourself it’s hard to understand the hard work and dedication it takes to make a stop motion video. Yet...it’s one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do when you bring objects to life one frame at a time. Great video! 👍👍👍👍👍

Kubo was the first movie that I purchased a hard copy DVD for as an adult a decade afrer I moved out. The only other movie I had ever wanted the hardcopy for in my life was The Wiz. I knew I needed to share this one with my kids for years to come. Thank you for taking the time to make such a masterpiece! 🙏🏾💙
