Just watched your video while eating breakfast in wet and dull Staffordshire, England. Absolutely beautiful and I feel so privileged to have shared your wonderful experience with you guys. I echo the other comments of feeling the relaxed and happy vibe. What an awesome place to camp and cycle. Thank you for giving me a sea fix as we live in the most land locked county in England! I can relate to the sadness you feel when you leave somewhere you love. Two weeks ago my husband and I cycled seventy miles around three lochs in Scotland. It was epic with stunning views and big climbs in all weathers. I actually thought of you and the effort it takes to make a video while riding tough terrain and really appreciate your hard work and dedication in bringing these beautiful videos for us to share. We would love to visit there one day, now added to the list! So glad you both had such a lovely time together ☺

I'm so happy that our simple video was able to conjure up such beautiful thoughts and get you that sea fix. Being so connected to the ocean in my childhood, I know how strong that craving can be. Your recent ride sounds awesome and quite adventurous by the sound of it. It's amazing the places the mind can go within its own landscape while physically travelling through another. I feel privileged that our videos were a small part of your thought-scape while you were on your adventure. How far from the ocean is Straffordshire? And please come visit new england, where your historical settlers once thought it worthy to set roots and call home. Let us know if and when you do. Thank you so much for your comment. I read it over coffee this morning and it set a lovely tone to my day. ☕🙏

Wow. You definitely should be absolutely proud of this footage. Incredible shots, editing and colour grading (?). The ocean is my happy place and a good salad is of of my favourite things. Now I want to go visit this peninsula in Maine and ride those trails and loops. Reminds me a bit of the coast and landscapes in the transkei and the hole in the wall area here. Hope you both enjoy your weekend. Thanks for another wonderful video!
@ThatMountainMoment5 ай бұрын
Thank you that means a lot to me that you appreciated in such detail. All of our videos are shot entirely on an older GoPro and I'm always shocked at how such a little camera can capture such great shots after some time spent color grading. The Schoodic Peninsula is a place that left a void in my heart once it was in our rear-view mirror heading home. For a week after i felt as if I lost a close friend. It's fascinating how a simple landscape can grab our hearts so tightly and feel like heart break when we must leave them. I have the same feeling of the mountains that we call home. The way you speak of where you live has convinced me that it's a place we must see in our lifetime. Have a beautiful weekend!

Man, if you're not a descriptive writer or a song writer, you should be ha ha. You word things so beautifully. I'm really glad you liked the music. I spent many hours going through songs to find them, especially the first song, which is one of my favorite parts of editing as music is such an important part of my life. My editing flow actually starts with a song I connect with and then I build the video around the song. I try to find music that reflects how I was feeling at that point in time. Man, I really appreciate you picking up on that vibe.

Oh awesome! Schoodic Woods is the name of the campground. Blackwood campground was very busy. If you want to sleep and relax in peace at the end of the day, schoodic makes a great home base for that and then day trip to the main part of Mount Desert Island for the hotspots in the brochures which are definately worth seeing. If you hit those hotspots on midweek days, you'll avoid a lot of crowds. Our next video is all filmed on Mount Desert Island using the carriage road network they built to get from point to point. by using the bikes instead of cars made it so much more fun. An ebike rental would honestly be the way to see everything. I think there was a rental place for E-bikes. What they did with the carriage roads is so well executed and very unique. You'll love the time there with your family. Excited to here what you think.

That's so cool! You will love it this was mid June. Perfect climate that time of year up there. I would highly recommend visiting mid week if possible. Schoodic Peninsula is very quiet no matter when because its an hour north of the Maine park area on Mount Desert Island. Mount Desert and Bar Harbor were quite busy even midweek but we only did a night there just to see the main park. Winter Harbor, the town near Schoodic campground was quaint and non touristy but bar Harbor, though gorgeous was very tourist town vibes. All worth seeing but we were happy with our decision to stray away from the busy area and spend most of our time just riding around schoodic and playing like kids in the coves and appreciating the peace and quiet. I loved the stargazing and hearing the distant rumble of the fishing boats leaving the docks in the morning. Our next video will show the main park area by bike so you'll get a taste of both. The carriage roads that they built into a gravel bike network there as well is very large. We rode almost 50 miles on the day we were there and still hadn't covered all of the roads. Think of MDI as a much larger and more visited version of schoodic. Schoodic feels intimate and more manageable to navigate to points of interest and little towns. MDI has all the well known hot spots that hard incredible and dramatic for sure. We spent a week there and still need to go back to see all of it. Hope that helps a bit. Feel free to ask more questions.
