Yeah I still love the natural trails that don't intrude on the aesthetic of the woods. The big wide flow trails are fun but all feel the same after a while and the look of them feels less connected to the forest. Glad you liked it.

I believe they are on sale right now. Im very impressed with the build quality and little details like the derailleur guard, the geofencing which senses if someone is near it that coukd potentially steal it andthe speaker alerts and then you get a notification to your phone that someone is near your bike, a dropper post, the range and battery life are really good. 60ish miles to a charge. And its just damn good looking. The power is incredible. I'm 200lbs and I could tow Nikki uphill in the snow on her skis like it was nothing. Really good e-bike value for under $2700. I like companies like @vanpowers that prove that good,fun e-bikes don't have to cost over 5k. It's honestly the funnest bike I've owned for how many things you can do beyond a normal bike. Full length episode coming soon where it's featured a lot in the story.

Just found your channel and I am loving it. Do you post your routes anywhere? We live in Southern Maine and the traffic has gotten crazy here, so my wife hasn't wanted to ride much the past couple years. Watching your videos though is getting her excited again for the possibilities.
@ThatMountainMoment21 күн бұрын
Oh so glad you found us, thanks for watching and subscribing. We totally feel you on the traffic situation which is why our rides have as little pavement as possible and sticking to gravel roads, forest roads, and snowmobile trails are also a great option in the warm months. I try to remember to post the link to our ride routes in our descriptions but if I don't it's because we know our area so well that we just wing it but I am always willing to create that route for you, just let me know if there's a video you see that you need more info on. Also the RideWithGPS app has been the absolute best way I've found to create a route because it gives you the percentage of pavement as you're building the route. I really want to create a route building 101 video or series showing how we build our routes because I've found a few tricks with that app that I feel are very useful especially in New England. If you use the app our profile is under the same KZbin name. I really want your wife to be able to enjoy an amazing day on the bike. Ecploring a new backroad or region, with Nikki her one requirement is a stop at a good cafe for an iced coffee or a quaint general store and I'm always on the hunt for a pristine swimming hole or dip in a river and thats what's awesome about ride with GPS, most of us that build routes on there add those little gems into the route. It really is life changing to use that app and look at a ride as a full day trip beyond the ride itself. I personally feel that's the life long approach to keeping the enthusiasm. If your in NH the NH gravel Facebook page is a great resource and they keep a route data base that we all contribute to. My routes on there are under my name Caleb O'Connor. Vermont is honestly the best place in the country to ride quiet gravel roads, the opportunities are endless with close to 10,000 miles of gravel and class 4 roads. Highly recommend a trip there if you can swing that. My mom lives over there and it's truly dream like. Please don't hesitate to reach out for any more questions and I hope this helps your wife enjoy the freedom of exploring our beautiful new England by bike. Thanks again for commenting and watching.

@ThatMountainMoment23 күн бұрын
@WilliamMcCannMurphy yeah Nikki and I have friends out that way in California and we were just talking about how sad it is that people are losing homes and loved ones. Climate change is very real, we see it here in the winter, there used to be so much snow and it would start in October some years, now winter barely gets started in December and it's much more mild and way less snow.

@ThatMountainMoment25 күн бұрын
Ha ha! Yeah, it's really hard for Nikki to leave free stuff stops empty handed. The duct tape did surprisingly well seeing that the canoe has been out there for over 10 years to my knowledge. It's sooo cold out today. Raw new England winter day for sure. Just attempted to norfic ski on what ended up being a frozen tundra...we ended up just going for a winter walk instead. Really neat seeing the rivers almost completely froze over. Haven't seen that in a few years. Currently thawing out as I edit the next episode.

Always like how you add new things to your videos. Also, thanks for the warm feelings during these below zero times. Lets ski!
@ThatMountainMoment25 күн бұрын
I'm glad you caught the film grain! It's a subtle touch I like to add for a retro feel in some of the intros. If there was a week to add some warmth it would definitely be this week. Went way north in Vermont yesterday to find snow to film a ski video and it was so cold the camera wouldnt function at all. kept shutting down ha ha. gonna try taping a handwarmer to it next time. yikes!

You were talking about your 650bs. I have a 2023 salsa journeyer and I’m running 27.5 x 2.35 Vittoria mezcals (tubeless) on it. Next time I’ll probably buy the 2.25s, but they fit!
@ThatMountainMoment25 күн бұрын
Nice! That's a great setup, how do you like the Mezcals? That was going to be my next tire choice for bikepacking trips. I bet it rides nice with the 2.35s. I think over 2 in general is a noticeable difference in comfort on long rides or rugged terrain.
@mi.gravel25 күн бұрын
@ I have loved them for mixed terrain riding. Gravel, chunky gravel, forest service roads. The 2.35s do fit, but there’s zero room left over for mud/snow. I’ll definitely be going with the 2.1s or 2.25s in the future.
@ThatMountainMoment25 күн бұрын
They get really good reviews from what I've read. We need new bikes this year so I'm debating staying with the 650b but those offerings get harder to find it seems. Most of the 29er bikes only fit up to a 2inch. I also like the strength of a smaller wheel when you hit rocky mixed terrain. I'm 200lbs and then you add bikepacking gear and that's a lot of stress on a wheel. How does those roll on normal gravel? Thanks for the feedback
@mi.gravel25 күн бұрын
@ they are pretty quick. I switched from 650b x 48 gravel king sk+ and my average speeds are pretty similar. I picked the mezcals because a huge percentage of the tour divide field uses them. If they are good enough for them, then they are plenty good for me haha.

@ThatMountainMoment26 күн бұрын
Totally! I've want to do some raw form edits this coming season where it's just nice camera shots from different perspectives and the sounds of the ride with minimal or no dialogue. I like making both styles for sure and love story telling so mixing it up is fun. Thank you for the feedback
@ThatMountainMoment26 күн бұрын
Or do an edited version and raw version of each video has also been an idea I've been pondering.
@wheelzandgillz26 күн бұрын
@ThatMountainMoment I used to like making kayak fishing videos on my original KZbin channel and editing them beatmatched and all back when I was more into cinematography and fauxtography but the more I made them the harder it was to find music for them lol I get it man making videos in that format is fun and gets that creativity off your chest. I feel like where you live though some nice longass unedited videos with the crunchy gravel underneath you coupled with the scenery is begging to take up disk space on your rig 😂
