Very unusual to have these shy birds nesting in my basket. Usually the Carolina Wrens get this prime location first. These birds normally make a basket type nest in a tree fork. The parents are very busy now with these 6 chicks. Note that it is difficult to get good exposure on the outside and inside of nest since inside basket is much darker. To get good colors on a parent on the outer edge means the chicks inside are harder to see. If I increase the exposure you can see the chicks but outside gets washed out.
UPDATE: Doing some research and my bird book skipped a page on flycatchers so I missed the Great Crested Flycatcher page. This bird ALSO nests in my area and it's nesting habits more closely match what I am seeing. The key is SIZE. Great Crested are larger birds at 7in-8in and Acadian are closer to finch size at 5.5in. So is this adult closer to a mockingbird size or closer to a finch size?
These might actually be Great Crested Flycatchers and not Acadian Flycatchers.
