These are most likely Great Crested Flycatchers and not Acadian Flycatchers.
The 2 types of flycatchers that nest in Myrtle Beach are Acadian and Great Crested. This basket is in a protected outside area under my eaves. It normally gets used by Carolina Wrens but this is the first time I have had flycatchers. In past years I have seen flycatchers investigate my backyard nest box but it was likely too small with a smaller 1.5in hole also. But the basket is larger and has a larger opening.
My nest:
6 eggs
cavity location
adult tail feathers have orange
Adult size seems right at about 7-8in
Acadian:
Usually only 3-4 eggs in a tree branch location.
Size of adults is about 5in.
