btw for the people who aren't aware why this song is so genius, this full version was made for LeaF's album "Doppelganger." The part at 2:07 (the genre switching) is actually switching between the styles of all the other songs in the album in order. I personally don't know if the chart does the engines by release order, but if so that's a very nice detail.

Same, but before Feedback, I made customs in Frets on Fire's built-in Song Editor as well as Freetar Editor. Feedback was a huge step up from those obsolete chart editors, but Feedback has eventually been outclassed by EOF and Moonscraper.

acai’s done a couple here iirc! the coolest one i remember was the chart silent room’s outer solution (a remix of megalovania), where it was kind of like you were fighting sans through guitar hero

The ones I've seen him play are "Aleph-0" also by Leaf, "Outer Solution" by Silentroom and Tanchiky, and "Aegleseeker" by Silentroom and Frums. If you like what you see in modcharts, then check otu "NotITG", it's basically this, but for Dance games like DDR. And who knows, you might find a similar modchart there (wink wink).

I first heard this extended version of Dopplganger in UKSRTX through NotITG, I was hooked on the modchart premise after seeing that and seeing everything come together. Nice to see Acai recreate my reactions pretty much exactly how I saw not only the NotITG chart, but also this mind melting clone hero modchart. If you are reading this PLEASE play the game and give some love to TaroNuke, the creator of the UKSRT AND dev of NotITG, the chart is HEAVILY inspired by that stage in UKSRTX.

It can't, the "mod" of it is actually a video playing with the usual fretboard turned completely see through to let the video pretend you're seeing the gameplay as usual, which lets it then fuck around with what you think is happening. This is visible by the fact the it looked like Acai never missed, none of the notes went past the bar, but the counter shows him dropping the combo plenty.

At the time, after converting .chart to .mid with Mid2Chart (I think or what did I use?), .mid was compatible with Frets on Fire, FoFiX, and Phase Shift. I didn't know any games that directly supported .chart at the time but I believe Guitar Zero 2 did.

I like this modchart, I just wish they were more consistent with their signaling of the stops - there are stops that don't have any sustains announcing them, and sustains that don't do any stops. There's really no way to know except to just memorize that (the blue & red seemed accurate as far as I can see). the readability & overall effects are really neat though, very fun to watch!
