Something I've noticed too, Monkey's first truck is an automatic, and after _"borrowing"_ Spine Buster, he's shown shifting a lot slower than the other racers, and even ends up breaking the shift lever trying to force the transmission out of reverse, when he could've used the clutch to stop the Droid from manipulating it. And while it isn't shown in the movie, Rat-ified, his last car, canonically has a sequential transmission with paddle shifters, which shows up that while he's still not good enough to use a manual transmission in a racing scenario, he's now confident enough to not use an automatic _and_ is willing to use technology the other Metal Maniacs will ignore to make up for his (relative) lack of skill.

I totally look at Porkchop and Monkey as chaotic siblings, the type who'd cause trouble for the neighborhood and be proud of it. We need more familial relationships in media like this, where they act like siblings. Those and partner dynamics are way more interesting than any romance ones, even though those are the most popular. It's funny though realizing just how many times Monkey was the reason the drivers won or survived. Surprised you didn't touch on his crush on Lani at all, even if it wasn't that relevant. It is nice he's the comic relief too, everyone else is so serious and he is quite natural comic relief to balance it out in a healthy manner. Hope we can work together on a video someday, I'd love to give this series some love too.

Monkey is such a wonderful character. One thing extremely important that im grateful for, is that they could have made Monkey extremely annoying. Like, they could have gone the Jar Jar Binks route. Or worse, they could have made him gross. Lots of burping or farting, or other annoying "comedic" tropes that plagued early 2000s cartoons. Let us all be grateful that Monkey is not only hilarious, but also has great depth.

Monkey is the most evolving character in the series. As we can see at first he really dumb, especially at vertical track at Storm Realm. He hit the brake lmao. But at Cosmic Realm, the character is totally different from the first one. He brave to be the first one that get into the sweeper. He is the man behind everything and life saver. Developing Nitrox 3,5, reprograming Sparky, taking drone's wheels, etc. I remember at one of your video, you said "…because they want Monkey to be useful." when you talk about the plan to hijack sweeper (maybe, I was forgot). Well, after watching this video, Monkey is really useful from the first, but not from driving aspects.

it was fromthe cosmi realm video - for driving the sweeper. If anyone could drive it it was himm bc of what he had done with nitrox etc. :) since his driving isnt as good as the others hed be more usefull trying to figure out how to drive the sweepr

He’s maniacal at his CORE. - He stole a Drone car tire and successfully made a Sweeper as the Teku and the Maniacs’ mobile base of operation. Well then u think how long does it take him to completely take control over a Drone car? And even batter, made his and his team’s cars based on their cars?

@@hybridAbsol Because Rollin Thunder isn't really intended for intense racing, it's the mechanic guy's utility vehicle. Speedometer only goes to 200 instead of 300 like the other cars, and is likely just used for carrying parts most of the time.

It had a column shifter and Monkey didn't lift his left foot when he accelerated.. definitely the mechanic's utility car instead of a proper race car, like one comment here said. Edit: I noticed that everyone in Teku has a Metal Maniac counterpart and vice versa.. they are either similar in some way or polar opposites. - The young and hot tempered Nolo vs the mature and cool headed Tork. - The gifted but inconsistent Vert vs the reliable Taro. - The Wylde brothers. - The loud Porkchop who hates music vs the quiet Shirako who loves music. - The racing genius Karma vs the innovator Monkey. Monkey is the worst driver and fighter among the crew, but he is also one of the most important ones if not the most. To summarize how Monkey helped the team: - noticed the lower tire wear on the drone's cars - developed the Nitrox 3.5 which saved Taro's life in Water Realm - reprogrammed a hostile drone into a friendly helper which could've saved Vert's life, if the series weren't cut short. - was the only one who knew how the sweeper works and made Kurt's plan possible, saving Mark's life. - gave Porkchop the idea to take a semi truck into the Junk Realm, ended up wrecking a sweeper. The drones took their biggest L there.

I think Monkey tried to develop a nitrous that can make a car hit 300mph forwards AND backwards. Taro used it near the end of the water realm, and pressed the same button to escape the drones HQ.. I guess Monkey did some troubleshooting and Tork happened to be the one testing, which gave Monkey the feedback he needed.

I think monkey put the steering wheel on the other side to help but I don’t think it would have helped the sweeper picked up nolo upside down and still put him in the prison so I would guess it could extract him on the right side instead of the left I bet he planned more on being able to hop out without a roof Also what happened to rolling thunder we see drivers don’t really replace cars without reason except nolo. But monkey never lost rolling thunder after breakpoint where pork chop rips the door off we never see it again I don’t know but I assume monkey can fix his door so why he replaced it not totally sure

His Rat-ified have better specs than newer Rollin Thunder, also having right side steering which giving another advantage. Since its Rollin Thunder abandoned, the car most likely destroyed when GIG destroyed Acceledrome.

Tezla installs EDR, not Monkey. His version was initial one bevause it only bring back people/driver without his/her car. Since the car are sent with only a driver, Tezla only knews if his EDR only works for 1 person. However, Monkey and Porkchop prove if the EDR can be used by both driver and passenger. Meanwhile, Silencerz also have EDR, but more advanced so they can escape along with their cars. In the end, when Kurt successfully take Markie, both of them used Kurt's EDR to escape. The same goes on Taro, piggybacked on Karma's EDR, while Shirako and Monkey piggybacked on Porckchop's EDR
