one thing id like to point out, the reason why the drivers tried to use accelechargers sparingly, mostly out of desperation and not every time they should, wasnt because they were trying to rely on their skills instead, but rather because the cars they drive cant handle the acceleron energy. you cant use them repeatedly in short succession or for really long durations of time. this was evident after the swamp realm when nolo was testing the swamp accelecharger on the test track. prolonged usage of the accelecharger caused high voltage to fail and quite literally fall apart before being destroyed. and that was only after a few minutes of continuous usage. compare that to gelorums car which _had_ been designed to use accelechargers and she had them activated for the entire duration of the ultimate race, which had to take well over several hours.

perhaps more driving related rather than character development related but i love how this cartoony show emphasised driving skill rather than which car is better. each racing realm was designed to teach and test certain skills which real world drivers use, e.g. the racing line, corner apex, tyre management. it was clever. perhaps a video on this would be interesting?

13:28 One thing that always gets me about this scene is how Tork casually pulls out the Swamp charger and nobody even acknowledges it. The only other time someone used the other team´s accelecharger was a last-ditch attempt to save a driver and the exchange happened mid race. An early sign of the teamwork we were about to see.

I personally prefer the Storm Realm. As it was our first impression of the Racing Realms, and it set the tone for the remaining realms. Imagine if the first racing realm we got was the Metro Realm or the Pipe Realm. It wouldn't have worked as well. The Storm Realm gave us the best moments to show how different these realms were compared to Highway 35, and as such, the drivers couldn't rely on the same skills and strategies as Highway 35. That shot where we pan off of the Injured Kurt Wild, with Slingshot being so badly destroyed is one of my favorite scenes in the series, no words, just darkness and sadness. But Cosmic Realm is probably my second favorite.

Another thing I noticed is that usually drivers would only use the accelecharger that a member of their team had won. Teku would use Swamp, Metal Maniacs would use Cavern. In the cosmic realm Tork tried using the swamp realm accelecharger. This also is an example of continuity because the only other time the teams swapped an accelecharger was in the middle of the Metro realm when Tork let Karma use the Cavern accelecharger to distract the drones while he helped Nolo & Monkey escape the sweeper.

Which means Character development AND reliability. Karma always was kinda neutral, she was in Teku, but she didn't care about walking with maniacs. Yeah, she actually hated their way of driving, but she never hated the persons behind it. And none of the Maniacs hated her either. This is why she used the cavern accelecharger on metro realm, also cuz tork wanted to redeem himself with nolo. after losing Kadeem on Storm Realm, didn't looked like it, but they decided to care less about their disparities if it means lose someone. Nolo on the Metro Realm (saved) and Wylde in the Junk Realm (lost, but saved later)

can i emphasize one thing? After swamp realm there are only 2 drivers who don't value others lifes more than winning. Nolo Passaro Mark Wylde In water realm, Wylde cares more about throwing Kurt out of the race than winning the Water Realm. Nolo tries to take Tork out of the Metro realm by constantly ramming into him during their chase until he makes a mistake and ends up with his car taken out instead. Tork never leaves Nolo either, until he ERPs (which he doesn't do), which we know is true because he wasn't close to the finish, but he was close to the Sweeper when it gets Nolo, hence how he helps Karma fighting the Sweeper. Final thing, Wylde gets taken out of Junk realm trying to disrupt Kurt and throw him out. Which means that directly trying to hurt another driver had terrible consequences every single time. And you can see it is only Nolo and Wylde, because Taro never turns to fight into Kurt, neither he "repays" the Ice Realm with Karma in the Pipeline Realm. Vert/Shirako/Monkey/Porkchop rarely get into any fight either, and Tork learns to avoid conflict after both Porkchop and Vert almost die in the water realm, so he basically is afraid of being the reason one of them gets trapped (what happens with kurt when Wylde doesn't ERP)

The opening shot to cosmic realm and it's OST is the most goosebump inducing piece of media and I will stand by that till the day I die. Wide shot of the planet, drivers entering and then the drones transition, the flow is immaculate and the soundtrack enhances the scene beyond legendary status.

When I found acceleracers 12-13 years after I had first watched it as a kid, nothing gave me more nostalgia than the cosmic realm, it was so recognizable and I instantly got chills, the music and the visuals are so good

One thing I love about the Acceleracers compared to highway 35 is how the cars and drivers get injured. In highway 35 the cars are practically indestructible, yet in acceleracers the cars get beaten up and destroyed on a routine basis.

The Racing Realms are waaaaaaay more serious than the tracks from Highway 35. Also the humans were racing and fighting Drones, with (what I assume) plasma based weapons which totally wrecked the cars too. Instead of just getting sideswiped or clipped by the other humans. Lol insane series.

@@OdelyxRa I agree, the racing realms are so insane! I remember watching them when I was little, i used to imagine what it would be like flying through the realms. I'd come up with my own concepts too. It was so amazing to watch. Highway 35 was intense, but the thing is everyone had a sort of unwritten rule not to completely wreck each other. In Acceleracers the gloves are off, and all heck breaks loose. I do wonder what kinda devastation those plasma weapons can cause however. They look pretty deadly.

The Cosmic Realm is honestly a really good challenge and also a threat to cheaters and those who wish to go fast and beat others, Nitrous being something that would mess you up especially if you try to get in front of racers and knock them off the track and hit so they lose control, the low gravity being something that would make these people look foolish but I know for certain that the Racing Drone Tires sacrifice grip for working on all terrain with its crystalline material and so the vehicles become slippery, having regular Tires including the one used in the Realm by Teku and Metal Maniacs which is Slicks or High Performance will not have this issue.

@@dyroth No they took the feature for working on all conditions because you can see that the vehicles glide on the tracks and are not very stable when turning, the way the vehicles sway on the water then you can see that they have no grooves, completely smooth and transparent but I believe the material is crystalline and has some alien nanotechnology to adapt to the road but not really provide any grip.

The Cosmic Realm makes me wish we got to see the Solar Realm as well. Just the concept of driving in a giant loop around a giant star with pillars of fire and hydrogen attacking you is such an awesome concept.

In that first big video and the Kadheem one you did well arguing the case that they lost the first realm + Kadheem because they didn't work together. By the end of the series they are working together like Kadheem called for and save someone from becoming like him.

As I grew Older, the meaning of the Cosmic Realm became easier to see (especially since I like astronomy) Space has always been Nicknamed “The Final Frontier” which In the 4th movie for acceleracers is true. It’s the Last Realm any of the Drivers go in and the moment they all prove themselves as good drivers. Vert even makes a great comeback in the Ultimate Race.

To be honest a acceleracers remake or continuation wouldn’t work. It may attract a new audience but I doubt they’d be able to recreate the vibe and it probably wouldn’t satisfy those of us who grew up with it. One bit of constructive criticism I’d like to put forth, is the format of the script. Don’t get me wrong, the way you have how the video set up now works, it just seems tedious, in how things are shown, then explained. I would recommend, in an attempt to streamline the video some, to put the scenes running in the background as you are talking, and then play a shorter clip to illustrate your point. It can help cut down on wasted time, and have a better flow to the video instead of: clip, talk, clip, talk.

The cosmic realm it's the weirdest one. Out of all the realms, it's conceptually the most boring one. Just drive fast and dont do rash movements. But them integrating the brother plot into it was the best decision and lead to one of the best moments of the show. Even in the final race being accelecharger vs nitrox, its still such a epic moment.

I feel like *what* happens in the Cosmic realm is more interesting than the realm itself. It isn't the most interesting design-wise imo, and it feels like more of a plot device comparted to some other realms where the focus is on their design. (i.e. City, Water and Junk)

I wouldn't say his voice is weak necessarily. He might not be as loud as the dubbed version you watched, but seeing as (in the original audio at least) how Tesla is normally soft spoken, sure he gets occasionally angry, but he rarely raises his voice, it makes it the more powerful when he actually *does* raise his voice.
