Accent Wall and Fireplace in the Master Bedroom in this beautiful bedroom makeover. Using Airstone.

I built an accent wall and a vertical wall-mounted fireplace in the master bedroom. It changes the atmosphere to a warm and relaxing space. I used 8 boxes of Airstone, 1 LED fireplace, 3 sheets of drywall, 2X3's 1 pound of 3" construction screws, 6 tubes of construction adhesive. Total cost less than $600. Total time 6 days.

Really nice job. I am looking to do this on a wall and will add a dry bar. I wanted to put shelves up over the bar with this rock. Are you able to drill into these and mount shelves ..I would find the stud behind to make sturdy

Hi Mike, thank you so much, I do appreciate it. I feel my editing is improving but, to be honest, it's the most challenging part of a project; consider this, multiple cameras (3 to 5), time-lapse, HD video, lighting, sound, different memory cards plus trying to develop a style that is informative and entertaining, one that's `Worth Your Time To Watch'! For a 20 hour project, you get 30 to 40 hrs of video to review, cut, and edit into a 15 to 20 min Video. Don't misunderstand, I'm having a grand time, this is very rewarding and satisfying especially interacting with other creators and of course viewers like you, but, it is like a full-time job. I would encourage you to put your toes in the water and make a couple of videos, what better way to share what we do and pass on those special insights and knowledge we have gained over the years. FYI, Currently, I'm working on several projects, some small and some large. In the coming months, you will see shop projects, some automotive and landscape (while the weather holds) indeed an eclectic mix. Last month my wife decided that `I wanted' a pond and waterfall on the patio, I feel it going to be a really cool project and my best home-related project to date. Beautiful work, for me I would have put up recess blinds, either roller or Roman to keep the sharp new lines of the wall clear , putting the curtain pole and curtains up kind of obscured the look a bit, but that's a personal option and opinion , nice work though , love the colour

Hi Petey, Thanks, glad you like it, the Airstone made an everyday wall something special, we really like it. I used 14 boxes for that wall and 2 box's of corner's, I had about a box and a half of random pieces left over. Thanks Miss T., it's much appreciated. If I had to do it over, I would have made the Faux wall a little deeper so I could make window seats, but overall it turned out nice. I wanted to extend the stone all the way to the edge of the windows, but I was concerned that is I removed the wood frame it would damage the structure of the window, I think it would look great if I could have done that. Wow, thanks Gary, your kind remarks are much appreciated. I have been working hard on my editing skills, and I have to say it's one of the most challenging parts of any project. I really like the Airstone, it's an excellent product and easy to work with, we ended up using it three places, the wet-bar is my favorite, plus the wife finally gave in and let me hang the shotgun there. I have a bunch of projects in the works, and a big list of things I want to do plus the wifes `Honey Do' list, I think you may enjoy some of them, I hope you will consider a subscription. I cringed when you hung the gun right above the heat outlet for the faux fireplace... I know the metal would have been fine (as long as you keep it oiled, but the wood stock would have suffered from the heat. So your wife did yer gun a solid... The new wall looks great and the stone looks really good... nicely done.

Hey Walt, good video. When we decided to make a couple of bedrooms in the basement of our house, I removed the garage doors and framed them in with a couple of windows for egress. The big problem I had was trying to match the existing brick, so ended up using stone like you did. I started at the corner of the house and went halfway up and continued along the back of the house. On top I put water table to break the stone from the brick. If you look at 6:09 of this video you can sort of see it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYivoaGLoN6kack Anyway, your project turned out awesome.
