@@hadar.shemesh May I ask you this? A lot of friends who are coming to the US are trying to imitate sounds and I always tell them - people would appreciate talking with a normal person, not a robot. Like, this is one of the most general mistakes right? People would try to sound native so they could blend. Hadar is it ok to use your own voice not something you have heard on tv, and try to imitate? People already appreciate the fact you know their language and try to speak with them. Is ok to mispronounce sounds in certain words, and people still figure out what you try to say, even though you're a native speaker? For EX: mispronouncing the TH in them because you don't have enough energy? And people still figure it by the context?

I'm going to an English speech recently. My teacher told me to stress the important words, but what I practice always sounds the same. I found out that I just speaking louder not a higher pitch after watching this video. It helps me a lot!!

Great pieces of advice! All of your suggestions are spot on! It's glaring obvious that you understand both native's and non-native's speakers perspective (difficulties, common mistakes) and can easily pinpoint what should be fixed or adjusted. Chapeau! (tips hat). I find myself overdoing: - linking and reducing even stressed words or elements of a sentence - flapping T's and D's across words (last syllable of a word flapped with the first sylable of the following word) over using stop consonats Those two major "habits" lead to an either broken or too rushed rythm in a sentence, preventing all those natural "pauses" ,by holding for longer stressed words/syllables (a chance for the mouth muscles to relax) to occur resulting in an increasing tensed up jaw and a pressure cooker race to keep up the pace in order to not trip up or get stuck while speaking.

To cite an example, I have seen may teacher(s) teaches lesson on speaking English in a natural way totally different than yours which I found not much productive. I sometimes tutor some fellow asians and although they can pronounce the word correctly, they are pronouncing it in a way that feels like they have a lot of tension hence making them sound unnatural and slows their reading too. their words feels hard 😆 if you know what I mean. It's a little different when they speak but it's so obvious when they are reading. edit: yes number 4 explains it.

Try to learn the sounds of Spanish (vowels and consonants) and then blendings, before you study the grammar. And practice listening skills with voices from Latin America and Spain. Avoid Spanish spoken in the US, since its more like a dialect and unsophisticated.
@christophermichael57646 жыл бұрын
Egas Egas thanks!
@AG-zh7zl6 жыл бұрын
@@christophermichael5764 To study the sounds you can try what is call "silabarios", which is something like "phonics". I found a channel for children about "silabarios". More than 4 hours with all the vowels, consonants and blendings. It could be infantile, but that's a good foundation. Although it was produced by Venezuelan actors, the Spanish is what is called "español neutro". It is the way to cater all the audiences in Latin America. In other words, the accent is not of a particular region. Some Netflix movies give you the choice of Spanish you prefer. The choices are two: Spanish (Latin America) Spanish (Spain). Good luck! kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWPTloylhN2Bmc0

It's very useful, thank you so much! I need your help. Can you make a video about the word have -ed in english? I've had a big problem with this sound because the \t\ and \d\ sound in the end of the word is very hard to pronounce in the sentence, so I can't speak fluently and while I heard, I couldn't listen to this sound. I really hope that you can read my comment.

Thank you! Have you seen my video about the -Ed suffix ??
@nguyenminhtam23026 жыл бұрын
@@hadar.shemesh Thank you very much but I didn't have the problem with /d/ & /t/ sound in -ED word. Here is example I took form the comment of a man below :" I remember how you managed to learn your perfect American accent without being American." or in a sentence:"I remembered that problem". I can hear /d/ sound in the end of remembered & managed when I use google translate's voice, and when I try to speak those sentences, it's not be fluently if I pronounce /d/ sound in -ed suffix. I wonder whether native speaker had some tips to reduce /d/ & /t/ sound or not and how to realize it, can you spend some time to make a video for people like me can deal this problem? I really very grateful to you!( sorry if you can understand what I wrote, my writing skill extremely bad).
