The entire Restless and Wild Album is great, which I guess when you consider that they are Accept after all, one should expect no less

Our hymn back in the early 80`s! Judas Priest and Iron Maiden were great back then, but for me, here in Germany, Accept was the band, that really had it all!

This band is such a hidden gem!!! Udo is a whole different animal when it comes to singers and he is about as big as Dio ( stature wise that is). But Accept is gritty as hell

In the early 90s, a friend and I went to Paris, spent the day there and went back to our homes in Orléans at 2am. I had bought Accept's "Live in Osaka" from 86 and started to listen to it once at home. I could not stop. And I think "Princess of the Dawn" really shines when played live, even with Mark Tornillo (instead of Udo). It sounds more "dense" and powerful every time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3zIkoGehciBp5I

Love Accept! Saw them just last year and they still ripped! Regrettably the guitarist Wolf Hoffmann is the only original member at this point. There is some strange beef between the original singer Udo Dirkschneider and Hoffmann and they state that they will not work together again. "Restless and Wild," the album this song comes from is a true masterpiece of classic metal, not a bad track on it in my opinion. The two follow up albums "Balls to the Wall" and "Metal Heart" are also metal classics in their own right. The previous album "Breaker" definitely has some serious metal on it too, though a bit too ballad heavy for some tastes. Can't wait until you react to "Metal Heart" and hear the heavily Beethoven inspired guitar solo. With current singer Mark Tornillo you should check out something like "Teutonic Terror" or "Pandemic" of 2010s "Blood of the Nations" album. You should also give the band U.D.O. a look, which features the singer from this track upon his departure from Accept. 🤘

Oh man, you unlocked a memory from my adolescence... In the mid-'80s, the band Accept had some success in the Heavy Metal scene here in Brazil as well... I recommend that you listen to "Restless and Wild" from the same album ...

Greetings and Love from Köln/Cologne, Germany again. Awesome reaction video. And 'Thank You, buddy' for this one. Brings back unforgetable memories. I discoverd Heavy Metal for me in 1985. I was 14 years old. A good friend gave me an audio cassette tape with different Metal bands to find out. Iron Maiden became my Nr.1. And still is. However, the very first song i heard on that tape was 'Princess of..' from 'ACCEPT'. As a german i searched of course for more German Bands. Here are some, alot of them are still out there. Like U.D.O. It's Udo Dirkschneider's new band after he left 'ACCEPT'. 'Helloween of course. Our german Metal-Queen DORO and her 1. Band 'Warlock'. 'RUNNING WILD' Power Metal with 'Pirates Theme'. Maybe you check out 'Invisible Horizion', 'Don't fear the Winter' or 'Death in the Afternoon' from the band 'RAGE'. Hope you will try out more German Metal, my friend. So, Stay Safe & Peace, buddy. UP THE IRONS ✌

Accept has always been huge among metal fans in Europe. "Restless and Wild" is their fourth studio album that probably rides on the success of their previous "Breaker" but is nevertheless good. Meanwhile Princess of the Dawn has been my favourite over 42 years, it appears. Girls at school asked for metal mixed tapes back then and used to frown about this song. Yet I keep returning to it having almost forgotten the rest. And while their new vocalist does a good job, I truly believe Udo owns this song. There's a difference in the depth of perception that only he can convey. :)

I always thought of Accept as the german AC/DC ... the real AC/DC with Bon Scott ... I think Udo D. doesn't sound much different, even he doesn't have Bon Scott's scottish accent . For 80s german metal this is pretty good, but at that time the Scorpions were my favourite german band🤘

EXACTLY! I MUCH preferred Accept than Aca-Daca, they just got me wide-open into Underground Metal in the 80's. I wouldn't discover EARLY Scorpions till many years later.

The comparison to the Bon Scott era of AC/DC is very apt. However, Accept's next album, "Metal Heart" (1984) is like the "Back in Black" imo. Almost every song is good unless you don't like Udo's vocals, and I can understand that. Also, the lyrics make you laugh because he doesn't have a great understanding of English. But the sound on Metal Heart is phenomenal, being one of the first albums of the cd (digital) era that was recorded in digital from the recording booth to mastering to transfer to cd. Music before 1984 was recorded via analog, might be mastered digitally before being converted to digital form (cd), which had only come out in '83. Around this time compact discs had a box on the back of the cd that told which steps of the recording process was done either analog (tape) or digitally. You can really hear a difference in the all- digital recordings in the cd era's first couple of years

Great reaction to a GREAT song. It seems that there are a lot of "Tutonic " rock/metal bands that are really tuneful. This is a great example of this......another one to checkout is " The Sails of Charon" by Scorpions featuring Uli Jon Roth. What a guitarist he is🎸🎸.....the next track on the accept album.......Fast as a shark....is total metal madness 👍

Hi Nick, I discovered a brilliant German Rock band through a song collaboration with a French singer. Lol ... True. The French singer was in a duo called "Wolfsheim", and has albums that I love inc' solo albums by the main vocalist, Peter Heppner and he has collaborated with many artists. He is a huge star in France...So the German group is called "Girls Under Glass" and their albums are brilliant !! Very 80's synth rock with great guitar solos. Well worth a look. [ Plenty on u.t ] I have not heard any 'Accept' music but have seen their album covers. Now I know what they sound like. Not bad. Definitely an AC.DC vibe. ..... Divebombing sounds ? Mahogany Rush Live [ Expanded Edition ] and you also get the spitfire machine guns. .... track "Johnny B Goode " [ 8 minute version ] Stunning ! Byee Jim X

Hey Nick, I heard you mention Pantera in this video reaction. Give a listen to Pantera's album right before 'Cowboys From Hell', it's called 'Power Metal', It is the first album with Phil as the singer. Many Pantera purist try to pretend this album does not exist, but it is a very metal album in which phil really shows off his metal voice. After this album they started to move toward the heavier sound. Start with 'Power Metal' and 'Death Trap' to hear some of his high notes and then hit 'Over and Out', which is a good jam. Cowboys From Hell was the last album I purchased as I'm not a fan of growling.

Yes! *Metal with Nick \m/* Was not a huge AC/DC fan, but THIS was my personal fave Metal version. Accept Loudness Savatage Queensrÿche (the debut Ep) Exciter Venom Metallica and a few others were the 1st Metal bands to invent Speed Metal (and then later) Thrash in 1983. Though Venom, Exciter & Metallica mostly played fast-paced songs throughout. These bands were introduced to me in 83 from an all Metal program from 94.7 KMET called "The Metal Shop/kMETAL Shop" every Friday from 9pm to 12am. Along with a TON of others. Never got to see Accept unfortunately, and their last album from 2021 "Too Mean To Die" was one of my fave Metal albums of that year (even though the vocalist from the original line-up has not been with them for decades). Accept is pretty well known in Metal circles, for the young who are into the history of the Underground 80's, and to us old timers around the late 40's and 50's. "Udo Dirkschneider's" voice was just as heavy as the guitars! Their Metal went from Speed Metal, Ballads and Metal "Rockers". It was bands like these that got me ready for the even more aggressive genres to come. But Accept and *Savatage* had a heaviness that I enjoyed a lot! And me and my friend would try to learn the songs and get our guitars to have the same tone/distortion. I was REALLY into early *Loudness* as well (from Japan). The more aggressive songs on this album are outstanding for its time, I believe I have a marathon idea with the "opener" which will be a surprise I think for you Nick (which is probably the most highly regarded track, as-well as the Title-Track). *Queensrÿche's* debut Ep on the otherhand . . . was ASTOUNDING. That is the band I followed up to "Hear in the Now Frontier" (1997), and who would be the Fathers of Prog Metal (with Fates Warning following). - I'm glad you are finally introduced to this band from Solingen Germany! Thanks again Narvik! Hopefully I'll have my share of Metal Marathons for you and like-minded fans to dig into in the future \m/.
