"Accepting organ transplants = Cannibalism" and other Old Jehovah's Witness Dogma

Note: It comes to our attention that we got something WRONG: They used to have convention attendees buy tickets for use at the food service counters. But after March 1990 the food was made available without buying tickets. For the next two conventions the food was "free" with a suggested donation. Good job guys for keeping us honest! Thanks for all the comments!
This week, we talk about seven changes that have made the religion of JW's unrecognizable from a generation ago. Your comment about the governing body hunbly thanking God for the governing body should have been made by many, long ago. It's always been climactically ridiculous for the WT to praise God for how much we've learned from the WT.

At the beginning, that newest GB member was Jeffrey Winder, not Gage Fleegle. I heard that the reason Watchtower stopped serving food at conventions and assemblies was they had to maintain “Board of Health” standards of food, facilities, etc. Some people got sick from the food at the convention and sued Watchtower. So Watchtower discontinued all food service.

That's interesting. Makes sense too. There could've been multiple reasons to shut it down. Another one offered was that since people were busy making food, they weren't paying attention to the indoctrination as much.

i remember when we had to buy tickets to buy food. I do not remember it being free but i may have forgotten. We used to take donations for literature. We had to give it away.

Yes to this, Donna! I remember the tickets and then I remember it going donation and then going away. I feel like the donation arrangement for food lasted like three or four years before they bailed.

@@DiffiCULTChildhood When I was a child the conventions were 5 or more days sometimes from 9 in the morning till 9 at night. My Dad always worked in food service. He went to feed kingdom hall builds too. He had a big fish fryer. My mom was baptized when I was about 10, but we had studied for years because my dad had relatives that were witnesses. I left around 1995 but did not wake up till 2015. thank you for your work.

i am 65 years old. I am df. I take care of my 90 year old mom who did not speak to me for years. She lives with me and I keep my mouth shut. and do not eat at the table with her.

I left back in the early 2000's. I remember in that time that we had to travel out of the City for the first time to a smaller city for the summer CONvention and at that time they brought in the rule that you could not bring food with outside labelling (like a subway sandwich bag) into the arena. This was infuriating as we were mostly staying in motels with no kitchens to prepare food! That was the last Cultvention I ever attended after having been born in and was at the time about 45yr of age. Enjoyed your video and subbed!

@DiffiCULT Childhood, in 1980, Edward Dunlap, Registrar and instructor of Watchtower's Gilead School was disfellowshipped for suggesting in a private conversation with two Governing Body members that it seemed to him that the Governing Body was acting as the faithful and discreet slave. (Dunlap's personal account of that conversation can be heard on KZbin.) Around 2010, Australian Steven Unthank brought a lawsuit against the entire faithful and discreet slave by serving notice of his lawsuit to an elderly anointed woman JW he knew personally. It was following Unthank's successful lawsuit that Watchtower changed its teaching to claim that the faithful and discreet slave was only the JW Governing Body.

I was raised as a JW, i never thought they were a true religion that represented God. Back then there was no internet, but most if not all of my friends associated with me even after i quit going. I still have a few that i grew up with that i still do things with today. If youtube was around then I'm sure i would have posted vides. However that was about 32 years ago. LOL I commend anyone who wakes up and understands what they truly are. The hardest part for me is knowing my friends still are PIMO's and continue to associate with this religion.

What has remained unchanged since the society's founders Russel/Rutherford FAR exceeds the comparatively minor refinements.tgese include the utter supremacy of the God and Father of Jesus Christ,the priesthood of Christ the mechanism of the substitutionary atonement,the meaning and mode of baptism,the inspiration and infallibility of hhe scriptures,the paramount authority of the scriptures,the millennial kingdom,the fact that the millennium is to be an extended probation for those who through no fault of there own never received a witness, that christ will have a literal 144,000 underpriests during his millennial reign. The condition if the dead I.e they are really dead,the resurrected will not be sentenced based on sins committed prior to their resurrection. The final punishment is destruction and not suffering. The Bible's moral standards including its requirements re: sexual immorality are nonnegotiable , absolute neutrality re: politics and war, all dedicated Christians are to be ministers of the gospel to name a few.

Hello difficult folks ! You two seemed to have turned out o.k., I have a question for you, Why do the Jehovah Witnesses have such a huge obsession with the Catholic Church ? I’ve seen some other X- j- dub videos and they constantly and non stop talk like this Jehovah witnesses and the Catholic Church and they do this and they do that. What the heck is that all about ? When I go to church we praise Jesus, we don’t speak about other people or religions.😮

In the 1980's & 90's the baptism was performed in the name of the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit, but only after 4 questions that the baptism candidates standing in front of the assembly had to answer "Yes" to in public. One of the questions were: "Do you acknowledge that The Watchtower is the only channel on earth which God uses to give you spiritual food in the right time?" This question indicated that the candidate had to pledge their allegiance to the Watchtower in order to get baptized, and that you had to accept all the teachings coming from the Watchtower. That question had absolutely nothing to do with the Bible's teachings about baptism, for a personal clean conscience. 1 Peter 3:21 Also, the Watchtower has put on their members a lot of extra burdens that the Apostles and Gods Holy Spirit never put on the gentile believers in the Bible. The gentiles were not even asked to pay tithes. Acts 21:25 "As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they must abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality." Acts 15:28-30 "It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond these essential requirements: You must abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals (because the blood is in the meat), and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell. So the men were sent off and went down to Antioch, where they assembled the congregation..." The Watchtower added to all their non Jewish gentile members: You can no longer worship or pray to Jesus. You must preach and count preaching time regularly (until 2023) You must go to all the meetings You mustn't wear a beard (until 2023) You must get baptized as young as possible after pledging your allegiance to the Watchtower. The end will come in 1914...1925..1941..1951..1975.. The preaching will be done before entering the new millennium of 2000. Overlapping generations. Sometimes blood is OK. You mustn't partake in the communion with Jesus unless you are convinced that you are specially anointed. You mustn't let your gentile women teach you anything. You must shun those who no longer believe in the Watchtower, no matter how pure they may live otherwise. You must read the Watchtower and Awake magazines regularly. Do not help strangers unless they accept a Bible study with you. ...and so much more...
