Deanna, you have such a warm upbeat personality! What you said at 36:00 brought me to tears. We’re the same age. When I was 16 I had a total nervous breakdown from all the watchtower garbage, and my parents put me in a mental hospital. It was such a scary horrible place. I think I got 40 cards from people in the hall. I put them all on the window sills. All the staff were shocked. Those cards probably helped safeguard me from bad treatment there because they knew people were interested in me. It’s a dark irony that the JW upbringing made me sick to get me in there in the first place. The whole dynamic is a bit like Münchausen syndrome.

Thank you for your kind words and support! What a beautiful person you obviously are despite what you have been put through! My heart breaks when I hear about what so many of us were (and still are) put through as young JW children and teenagers. I hope you are finding some love, comfort and support in life now. Sending lots of love your way! 😘🧡🍂

June, I loved this interview. When your son said they weren’t his friends, a memory came of a dear friend whose congregation went after her and her family. Her quote, which I will always remember “they will show up in suits but never show up in jeans”. That perfectly summarized it for me. They will do their duty with absolutely no love or compassion, everything that reflects Jesus love drained from the equation.

As a person who although didnt had to deal with spiritual abuse and was grown in an atheist family, still i do get shunned a lot by society because i am neurodivergent, it is very hard to keep a good sense of self when the smallest thing can get you discarded or end up with you losing your whole social network. Great video! I really love all the topics you guys are doing! I wonder if you might do a video on FEARS that Watchtower propagates? The artwork, outright is violent and tragic, but if you use a rectangular mirror, you will actually see HIDEOUS demonic looking things on much of it, from Watchtower’s start til now. I was born in, was too afraid to even tell my mother the artwork scared me, until now, I have told her. Her response is: You’re the ONLY one who was like that. You were always “different.” (Gaslighting me, of course…) It would be helpful to see how others felt growing up in a doomsday cult. I know you’ve covered some of it. I just wonder if you could cover how a JW child could get scared with JW teaching and with the reinforcement of horrid artwork. If you feel it would be redundant, don’t worry. Anyway, very important topic of help here!

I beg to differ. Working on the catapult crew on the flight deck of a carrier where our life expectancy was 20 seconds on the flight deck and mustering the next morning with gravel imbedded in my forehead taught me to party on liberty like their was no tomorrow. The JW’s had no idea what drinking was even about. Today I’m a legal cannabis medical user who grows his own medication. 😊

Wow! Please tell June congratulations for me!👍🙏😁 I’m sorry June you miss some of those sweet JWs, but you leaving actually set a good example of taking control of your health and do what you needed to do! Think about how not leaving would make them never think anything wrong with the cult. In leaving, you cause a little crack in their mental facade. I think, if some admitted things, they also had experienced cognitive dissonance, so have little cracks that will probably split more now, plus with all the weird changes…I have some I also miss, but going back, I know would actually make the friends less likely to notice the cognitive dissonance causes. (Sorry if it doesn’t maybe make sense.)I just see that you look so much happier now, healthy and stronger. That will make them question their own lives. They’ll have to ask themselves: WHAT DID PUTTING THE NEW PERSONALITY REALLY GET ME? Eventually, they’ll have to realize how empty and gray everything really was in that organization.

I totally know exactly what you mean! And I've bumped into many JW's from my old hall in our local coffee shop when they are on break in service after I'm done with my yoga class and it's funny... The younger generation, my kids age (25-30) if no older ones are there, have all said things like, 'you look amazing!' 'you look so happy!' 'you're literally glowing' without me prompting any of it. And I guarantee it's because I'm the same age as all their parents and I know their parents and I've seen them and they all look tired, irritated and sorta old. Older than my old ass looks. LMAO 🤣 And I think that must say something to that generation, at least I hope it does and makes them think. Thank you for taking the time to comment and sorry it took me so long to respond! 🧡

@Mike-p9n Well Mike, I have to be honest. No part if this statement sounds like an actual JW. And if you're just trolling our videos because you have time & energy to spare, thats cool. But I know you're not the real deal because JW's hardly EVER refer to Jehovah as YAWEH unless it's in the context of ancient language transcription. Additionally, while there are many JW's that do indeed have "big stacks" as you mentioned, they wouldn't flaunt it with such crass descriptions. Nice try buddy 😉

@Mike-p9n Doesn't hurt my ego in any form or fashion 😂 But I also know that current JW's have been warned repeatedly not to look at any type of apostate material, even calling it "spiritual pornography"... so that means one of two things. Either 1. You think the rules don't apply to you & you're allowing yourself to be "ruled by the flesh" & just watch whatever you like. Or, 2. Deep down, you know this organization all man-ruled so you watch KZbin trying to talk yourself out of what you already know. Either way, I hope you find what you're looking for 👍

To watchtower each congregation is like a McDonald's franchise. They all have exactly the same menu and are run by a corporate headquarters.
@franksimmons92422 ай бұрын
Oh yes and they all have different profit margins and all they sell is beef potatoes and syrup all over processed and "refined". The rest is marketing and advertising just like their menu is limited so are positions inside so-called Kingdom Halls and there is a lot of competition for the few top jobs. These organizations are run with a merciless iron fist and bombarded with constant instructions and directives which are marketed as new light in God's direction. Back then I didn't realize we were the POS. Point of sale being trained to recruit under the guise of free Bible studies selling a narrative that was dominated completely by self-appointed impostors also known as the "brothers or governing body". Just wow. Even the Demons fear God, but not these guys.
