I'm still prepping for the MOS Access exam and most of my issues are with creating objects. I'm comfortable with the basics, but when there are lots of in-depth "extras" to the requirements of the object, I have trouble. Is there a "trick" to know when it's best to use the wizard versus just using design mode?
@ProfessorAdamMorgan5 жыл бұрын
Hi Amy, Most of the exam deals with creating and editing objects. Usually the exam will tell you to use a Wizard if it wants you to use the Wizard. I recommend not using the Wizard unless it asks for it. I also recommend completing tasks that you know 100% first, then returning to the difficult ones at the end of the exam.

Hi Adam how do you add the total function on a report ? And how do you create reports on Excel ?
@ProfessorAdamMorgan5 жыл бұрын
Hi Taha, Sure, so after you create your report, go to the content control that you want to add up. Then go to the Report Layout Tools 'Design' tab. In the Grouping and Totals group and select the Totals button. This will bring up a drop down list, select sum. This will add a total content control at the bottom of the column. I hope this helps you. You can convert your Access tables to Excel. I have a video explaining how to do this, so please have a look at it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4m4XqGwi7Wpg9U

Can i ask few questions Prof? 1. For primary key, does it have to be an ID/code number? Can i use "supplier name" as the primary key cuz i don't wanna put ID/code for supplier table 2. Once primary key been set and relationship been made with other table, can i change the primary key to a different field on the table? 3. Can i adding data straight on the table or it can only be by form? If it's possible what's the different? Thank you...
@ProfessorAdamMorgan5 жыл бұрын
Hi Garnita, 1. The primary key doesn't need to be an ID/code number, it only needs to be unique. You can type a supplier name no problem, as long as you don't have 2 suppliers with the same name. 2. As long as the primary key is not the field that the relationship is based off, then changing the primary key field should be fine. 3. You can add data straight on the table. Some people prefer typing on a form, but it's only a matter of preference.
