Great job. I just missed some labels on the wires. Here in my work they used Honeywell instead of mercury boards but we are upgrading the old power supplies, that have been there for years, to Life Safety. It's a big project because it's an airport but I'm enjoying so much to do it.

Wonderful video. I’ve done a lot of service at point of use (electric strikes etc) but not seen much of the power supply and the circuit boards etc. I plan on getting more into this stuff in the future. I have lots of questions but I’ll keep watching your vids as I’m sure you already have answers to them. Thanks!

Thank you so much. If you have alot of questions feel free to ask and one thing I will share is you can always go to LifeSafetyPower.com, there is alot of useful information on this kind of enclosures (power side), from manuals to very helpful videos.

@@lowvoltageghost888 thank you! I guess from the boards to the hardware it all makes sense it’s the part where you connect to software or the cloud that idk. I’m kinda at a point where I have a local lock supplier that can supply me everything. They even have engineering that will work with my customers thru me. All I would need to do is install from power supply to the downstream (doors). I just lack the knowledge with the integration into what goes on upstream before the hardware panel to where “administrator” level is (internet etc). Last job I turned that part down and just installed all the hardware and left the wires hanging at the doors per our agreement. They had a guy run his part to my wires and he handled all the badge readers and all that stuff as well. I’m just missing out on a lot of opportunity with that side of it. Thanks!

Well, it's very simple, you can wire up the hardware very easily. The Network part you new a License and to be Certified to be able to download and enroll the readers, but the head-end termination and field termination you can complete your self, just hook up the power to the designated lock hardware and the readers and devices also can be hooked up, I'll post a video on how to hook up readers and basic reader terminations and communications. As well as terminating lock power.

Different access controll systems do not use licensing. Mercury is high end/government rated.

Hi. Thanks for the videos. I have searched for an answer to my question but no luck .. maybe you could help me out. How can I connect 2 readers in/out to the same port? In the specification of the lp4502 mentioned suppprts up to 4 readers and 2 opening. Wiegand/OSDP ? Thanks
@lowvoltageghost888
@lowvoltageghost888 3 ай бұрын
Ok, luckily, I just went through a project that required this. If the Card Readers are HID and are OSDP capable, you can land both card readers per terminal and program the readers through the HID Reader Manager. Address one card reader as 00 and the other as 01 as well as programming on your software system this information, and this will let the system know that one of them is for used for en try and the other for exit. All through one cable, wire parallel in the field. Hopefully, this helps.

@@lowvoltageghost888 thanks man. Really helpful! If you don’t mind, one more question, in the mr16out board specs, also mentioned supports up to 4 osdp (no wiegand) readers. But no other mention of reader connection on the manual. Did you try to use this option?

The white 2 wire is only a fire alarm input. The only way to change the output relays and voltages on your fpos and your IO boards is with the jumpers. The only IOs you can change remotely are on the lp1502s and the mr52s.

Do you want to bet? Do you know what an NL4 is? You are talking about the other LSP model with the manual relay jumpers. This LSP Enclosure is different, buddy.
@YZFR16666
@YZFR16666 3 ай бұрын
@@lowvoltageghost888 yes i do want to bet, the nl4 is used for monitoring the power supply & attached devices. Not changing output relays or voltages
@YZFR16666
@YZFR16666 3 ай бұрын
@@lowvoltageghost888 You would only do those changes on the host and slave boards through the IP login of the host access control board, Any changes to the power supplys are done with the jumpers pins.
@YZFR16666
@YZFR16666 3 ай бұрын
@@lowvoltageghost888 but i may be wrong, always learning new things,, What type of power supply boards do you use that are not controlled by jp jumper pins and are instead controlled by the NL4 instead
@lowvoltageghost888
@lowvoltageghost888 3 ай бұрын
You are partially correct. The LifeSafety Power Netlink® NL2, NL4, and NLX modules are network appliances which may be used with LSP power systems to provide remote monitoring and control of the power system and connected devices, meaning you can change the output from NO to NC and even enable and disable fire relays. The white jumpers you are talking about are on the older output boards C4/C4P/C8/C8P, and the ones on this particular video are M8 boards. There is no more need for the manual jumpers it's all through the NL4, buddy.

The only question I have is thus: Do you wire your emergency exit button as a rex or does it physically break power (as per nfpa72 egress code)? [Applies to magnetic installs or fail secure] Nice mercury access setup. Very clean! Also, why rex with mechanical egress??
@commentz-1
@commentz-1 5 ай бұрын
REX shunts the D.C. when existing .
@lowvoltageghost888
@lowvoltageghost888 5 ай бұрын
So, a failure secure door or Maglock by code in most of the installation that I have done and gotten approved by a Fire Marshall require 2 means of egress, which in my case I have used an exit button and motion detector. These devices typically have 2 outputs. 1st outputpole for the rex for the software to shunt the DPS (Door Position Switch or DC) 2nd output/pole is used for the hardwire circuit to drop the lock when walking out, either the button or motion will release the lock. Hopefully this helps.

Are these locks voltage applied (12v/24v to open), therefore wired normally open? Nice video btw👍
@lowvoltageghost888
@lowvoltageghost888 Ай бұрын
"Yes, the specifications of an electric lock can vary based on its type, including voltage (12VDC or 24VDC) and whether it operates with a Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC) configuration. - Maglocks typically operate with a Normally Closed (NC) setup. - Electric strikes can be configured as either Normally Open or Normally Closed. - Panic bars are generally Normally Open. - Mortise locks can function in both Normally Open and Normally Closed modes. - Cylindrical locks are also versatile, supporting both configurations. The choice of configuration depends on the specific purpose and application of the lock."

Anyone- What terminal on the FP250 are the borders connected to. And are they daisy chained. I know the terminals for the borders are TB1(master) and TB7 (MR52-slaves)
@lowvoltageghost888
@lowvoltageghost888 8 ай бұрын
Yes, you can daisy chain them. Depending how much power you need. FPO150/250: Land positve wire on DC1 and negative wire to BR. Just make sure to set your board to 12VDC and not to PASS, so you don't burn you readers. Most readers take 12VDC. Hopefully, this was helpful.
