A perfect game is one that you talk about maybe 5 or 10 years later with fellow gamer friends, and think, man I really want to play that game again. +Gro-tesq Ba I have my fingers crossed for you, mate. Hopefully you'll get lucky and drop it sooner rather than later. I got fairly lucky when I was farming. I had about 60 tries at the black phantom katana guy running back from the 4-3 archstone, then I switched to the 4-2 secret passage katana guy and I had the stone within 30 tries. So, for something that has a 1 in 200 drop rate I was happy to get it within 90 attempts. Post back and let me know how you get on. :)

I completely understands Nath's frustration. It is exactly why I do not play sports games. Tell yourself Nath that you are good at other things in life. That said, my most anticipated games are No Man's Sky, Ratchet & Clank & one which that surprises me that is not mentioned often is Hyper Light Drifter. A "perfect game" to me is a game in a genre that edges out almost every other game in that category in every single way. Like the Last of Us, Uncharted 2, God of War. All of those edge out their competitors in their genres.

There's no such thing as a 'perfect' game, but there are a few games that you can describe as 'transcendent' - games that aren't just 'good for the time', games that leave a lasting impression. I think the main criteria for these games are: (1) Good handling - you know when a game controls like crap, and sometimes you'll forgive bad controls for a good game (I'm looking at YOU, Resident Evil!), but there's nothing like the satisfaction of blitzing through Super Mario 3 and knowing that our plumber friend will go EXACTLY where we want him. (2) Character design - Humans are social creatures, and we want to hang out with virtual characters who have personality. Whether it's Pac Man, Agent 47, the shadowy kid from Limbo, or Sonic, great character designs help us build relationships with the avatars we steer around for hundreds of hours of our lives. (3) Purpose - Great games build a sense of urgency in the player. Developers talk about this in terms of 'feedback loops' - a series of small actions that accomplish a large goal when repeated - but all that really means is 'sense of purpose'. Minecraft, for example, posits a silly looking world where a few tiny actions can be repeated and combined to create a replica of Notre Dame...it's genuinely remarkable. If you take any of the really transcendent games you can name, I think you'll find that almost all of them do really well at all three of these....good controls, good characters, and an insatiable urge to keep playing are pretty much the golden trifecta

Hey guys love the show and have watched from the very early days of ps3 videos on the store. Never really been bothered in the pursuit of trophies but finally after giving into that #squadgoals theme and Nathan talking about going back to dead space to platinum I had a look and realised only need 1 trophy on tekken 6. I ended up platinuming Tekken 6, Tekken tag 2 and tearaway (dunno why i focused on the T's). Thinking my squadgoal will be to try get 12 this year over ps3, ps4 and vita. Then after watching this weeks #1on1sie and hearing Tekken 6 mentioned for next week i realised it must be fate! This must be the game to settle the score next week!

Nate I feel the same way about any basketball game. It is impossible for me to win. I think at some point it would be cool to let us pick the one on onesie challenge game.
