Absolutely awesome, you guys are good people, and I can tell your whole heart was in this project. Being differently abled is very challenging, you guys brought back so much to this very lucky man. Much love and much respect, keep the momentum, and keep going

As a wheelchair user there’s no way to get up or down that ramp alone with a manual or power chair. Well, you could get down but it would be the same as throwing yourself on the ground. Still cool looking van. Airbags are a great start and something I was looking into for my 08 Tundra, but got the same response from so called custom shops around me that they can’t do it. I ended up lowering it 4 inches lowest kit they make, and getting a asento XL seat to lift me up level to the drivers seat to transfer over.

I love that these guys' hearts are in the right place. The wrap, wheels, and air bags are great. But that ramp isn't usable. I have a Sprinter with a wheelchair lift in the side door rather than a ramp. Way more practical. You can get a really cool lift that goes under the van to accomplish the same job and that will actually work. Yes, it's a bit expensive, but it looks way better than the "school bus" lift I have, and it will work way better than this ramp that these guys built.

You can tell these guy's haven never sat in a wheelchair, it's the little things you miss not having done it.. The lip and the angle making it near impossible

It looks great on video... I was concerned for the steep ramp though... will he navigate that ramp on his own? Otherwise super nice van...
@paulobyrne85844 жыл бұрын
Ramp was too steep to use on his own would be easier with folding double extension ramp
@bobjones26604 жыл бұрын
Seemed too steep. Plus there's a 1" lip at the top he'd have to get over.

Cool video but Braun makes a very superior solution. Costs a ton but for anyone who needs it it greatly increases quality of life.
@Maples013 жыл бұрын
NEVER TRUST THAT DAMN COMPANY! Bruan suck ass, the refuse to repair their products, and they force disabled shops out of business by forcing them to buy millions of dollars of minivans to sit on their lot, I know this first hand.

@@Maples01 🤷♂️ maybe. I'm not sure about that
@Maples013 жыл бұрын
@@randomsomeone1617 They removed all repair diagrams of their equipment from the internet, so owners are unable to service or repair it, and parts are only available through certified dealers, who don't have to sell it if they don't want to bother ordering it. Someone my parents went to school with, he runs a custom shop that orders and installs parts for cars and trucks, he was installing wheelchair lifts for years before they pulled his dealer license, along with many others, same reason, push those stupid minivans, now the nearest wheelchair van service places is over 100 miles away. Add on the government got involved years ago, gotta save the stupid people, now all wheelchair lifts are loaded with safety features, added electronics guaranteed to fail, leaving you stranded. I drive older vans, I have friends install older, simpler hydraulic lifts, more dependable than the Bruan that was in my van, the dealers refused to work on it, and when I went outside them, they refused to order the parts for the shop I lined up to repair it. I know 3 places they put out of business.

Everything is cool except the ramp is a little to steep that’s why they wheeled him in backwards. in order for him to get in himself the ramp needs to come out a little longer and less steeper the whole purpose of the ramp is for him to get in and out himself
@Mn16Cr454 жыл бұрын
Can he drive up this ramp without help ?
@LB_Amerijuanican4 жыл бұрын
He uses a power chair normally say at home. He'll bring the wheelchair for stuff like this, rolling and talking. He clearly says his power chair will climb right in it. They should add a covered place on the back of the van to store his normal wheelchair
@redwhiteGT5003 жыл бұрын
They should of made a electric lift that elevates the chair..fail
@chrissawyer492 жыл бұрын
No way a power chair will go up or down that ramp

There is no way he can go up in that ramp
@Maples013 жыл бұрын
Holy shit that ramp is steep, wait till it rains, wet wheelchair tires, that gets old quick, you are better off with a lift not a ramp on a big van.
