About 25 years ago he was directing a movie near my friends house. During a break in filming he walked around and shook hands with the entire crowd of people (including myself) and thanked us for coming. What a genuinely nice guy.

True Story: I was at a Laker game in the 80's, I was probably 11 or 12. If you remember the Forum it had long aisles. I was walk Ing down and recognized him. I asked for his autograph and he declined very respectfully, but asked me to write my name and address on a napkin and he would send me something. Being that young i never expected him to send me anything, i was just grateful that i got a chance to meet him. Sure enough maybe a month later, i received an autographed picture of him. It said ; " Mark smile your cool heart out!! Have a great life, and it was great meeting you!" Needless to say that made my year, and yes of course i still have the picture and will always treasure it. Not too many A list celebs would've done that(mingle with the common folk) As far as I'm concerned he's the best and always will be.

I was in a maple leafs game and I saw Tom Green on a aisle seat, I lived Freddy for fingered so I decided to ask for his autograph, he sarcastically responded and said he'd send me a little something If I gave him my address, I wasbt expecting anything just thought it was a tactic to make me go away, but sure enough a month later I received a parcel in the mail, I opened it and there was a pile of moose poop 🫎💩 This may have happened or I could have just been inspired by a comment I read on KZbin once

I met Henry Winkler when he was staying in Orlando filming the Waterboy. He would come into the Sub shop I was working at everyday and get his slice of Pizza while waiting for his order. He was the nicest and kindest person I have ever met and we even took a picture together.

Mr Winkler played in a Christmas Movie called *The Most Time of the year* 2017 and that was so nice to see him . He did an Amazing Job. If you haven't seen it, look it up and watch it. I wished I, could meet Mr. Winkler and Mrs. Winkler, both.

As a former airline crew member, I have had many celebrities as passengers. Some were real jerks (Jerry Lewis) and some were really nice. This was around 1975. Henry Winkler flew my trip from Chicago to Los Angeles. Very friendly gentleman! Really enjoyed having him as a passenger!

In 1991, a couple of friends and I went to see the Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast, at the theaters next to Universal Studios Hollywood. We’re sitting there waiting for the previews to start and we see Henry Winkler coming down the isle with a couple of kids (We all assumed that those were his kids) on their way to their seats. Every one who was seated started whispering. One guy sitting in the back yelled out “HEY!” doing his best Fonzie impression. I just remember going 🤦🏻‍♀️ because I’d read that while Mr. Winkler was thankful to be able play the Fonz, he was afraid of being typecast because of that role.

If any of you don’t know, Henry Winkler did a modern adaptation of ‘a Christmas Carol’ in 1979 called ‘an American Christmas Carol’. He doesn’t play Scrooge, he plays Benedict Slade, but it’s the same basic character. The creators just didn’t want to use the original names since it was a modern setting for the story. This was the only version of a Christmas Carol that made my mother cry. Henry Winkler really is a great actor.

This can't be hand written and may never be read by Henry but I'd like anyone that sees this to know that he is a good soul that is seen through his work and what people that do know him, say about him. His work reflects his decency and values because he brought heart, compassion, warmth, vulnerability to the cool, tough guy, fonzi. And his other characters in other movies also beloved. I believe he picks characters based on their goodness or potential for it. He has made a great roll model, consciously for all us kids growing up in the 70s and only the Lord knows what a positive influence he has brought to millions of kids and adults. Same with the imaginative brilliant ground breaking MacGyver series! Thanks for holding to that higher positive road, Mr Winkler! Every knows it's not an easy roll and image to maintain and live up to.

Its funny, I watched Happy Days when I was about 7-10 and only knew Henry as the Fonze and I never saw him again until he was in The Waterboy. In Happy Days he was this cool guy with no fear and seeing him in The Waterboy, I didn't know what to think, as he was completely opposite to Fonzy. For some reason I thought he would be more like Fonzy in real life then he was in The Waterboy, but he seems more like The Waterboy character in real life and just seems like a real nice genuine person to.

I grew up watching Happy Days and of course I was in love with The Fonz! I was in Germany in 1982 or 83 and the whole cast came to play softball with the Army’s team. I think that Anson Williams father in law was a General in the Army if I am remembering it correctly. Anyway my husband at the time was Henry Winkler’s body guard while on the base. Long story short I got to meet all of the cast and they were all so very nice. Got a lot of pictures.

I was a child at the time and overheard the conversation my father had with my mother. I've never been a fan since then.

LOL.......... a tad off topic ....... years back I was background on the original MacGyver TV series. It must be that birds of a feather flock together. I remember Richard Dean waltzing exhausted onto set. Doing much the same. Shaking hands and being genuine. It was his birthday and he literally flopped exhausted on the floor. Then he rose and lovingly walked over to a couple older women and said to the director.... "make sure these two get on camera". I thought they were going to melt LOL. Thank you Mr Winkler for your productions and those you've lifted up........ the film industry needs many more of your kind. Stallone likes to say he never sold the screenplay to the first "Rocky" movie despite being broke, but that is not the whole story. He sold it, then regretted it, and wanted it back. He couldn't get it back. Henry Winkler used his clout as the biggest TV star of the day to get it back; he met with the buyer and convinced him to sell it back to Sly. Henry Winkler was on a softball team making a USO tour on Okinawa in 1983. As the team was heading for the CH-53 leaving the diamond at Camp Hansen, they were shaking hands with Marines. I got a kiss from Anson ‘Potsy’ Williams and Henry Winkler kissed my hand!
