I made so many mistakes (not with married men, ok) but I was totally out of my mind thinking I was unstoppable. If we were all penalized for our errors the way she was, we would never have a chance. She deserved a good life and a family. People make mistakes. Bill certainly did.

@@andriylashchyk8007 what do u think about impeachment ? Have u seen it ? I'm always wary when the producer is making a show about themself. It's so hard for anyone to be totally objective. Monica is pretty honest so I think it's ok. I mean it's good to get the actual persons perspective. Like straight out of compton was produced by ice cube & dr dre so I felt they came out looking really good bc they are telling the story so of course. It's like that saying " history is written by the winner " I've only watched hi lights of the movie so I dont know if dr dre included his penchant for hitting women or I'm sure that embarrassing photo of him looking like some disco guy not the " hard rapper image " is not included. Back to monica I saw the thong scene & I was surprised how innocuous it was. In my mind it was much worse than depicted so I hope that's how it really was. I give sarah paulson so much credit. Everyone seems to unanimously hate linda tripp but she said she had to find empathy for the woman she was playing to make it work. Theirs nothing worse than if an actor hates the person they are portraying. Like sarah found out that linda was actually a very funny person & could be a lot of fun. I also saw a interview w/ her from many years ago & her young adult kids were in part of it & these kids not only were beautiful looking but they seemed very nice & adored their mom & were saying how they hated how she was made fun of on snl & leno. So it sounds like linda was a very good mom so in my book anyone who raises their kids right & if the kids love them so much they cant be all bad. Linda to me seems like her own worst enemy. Her initial agenda was to write a book about this & was friends with a very big publisher who published for some of the players in the oj case. So her motivation was a book & money but something else took over bc she then went to Paula Jones lawyer & then ken starr who knew nothing about the dress. Doing this blew her book deal . I can only gether it was bc now she made herself a witness & the judge placed gag orders on all witnesses. I dont get her motives in changing gears & calling people who wanted to get Clinton. She made no money off the case & got into debt of a million dollars to her attorneys. She did that to herself bc Jones lawyer & ken starr never even knew about monica.

Watching this interview again in 2021, in my 60's now. Seems like a young, naive woman is being judged and shamed to an extreme. She was a young, open, trusting, infatuated girl. It was a consensual affair between consenting adults. He had a history of rampant extramarital affairs. It was nobodies business but theirs (and his wife). It seems cruel and punishing what happened to Monica and her family. The Prez continued on his way. A total double standard for the men and the women. I've always liked Barbara Walters interviews but here she seems to take the voice of the patriarchy.

He continued to pursue her and manipulate her - he talked her into moving to Portland to go to college after he moved there with his wife. Their relationship and how that played out and his impact on her at such a young and formative time probably has a huge part to play in her relationship with Clinton & willingness to take the scraps he gave her. She was 22, had only had one previous relationship, one that was totally fucked up. Clinton was also her boss, twice her age, & the most powerful man in the world & a married man. I am Brazilian and I remember that at the time of the events, Monica Lewinsky was humiliated and condemned by public opinion in Brazil. A 22-year-old girl could not possibly feel attracted and fascinated by a handsome, older, charming man; her boss and the president of the United States of America (although the media spent all their time idealizing this exact type of man), however, a married man, president of a nation and head of government could indeed feel attracted to a 22-year-old girl, his subordinate. Do you see the irony and injustice of this public condemnation?! I was only 13 in 1998, but I thought about the shame she must have felt. Today, at 39, I see that this girl is an EXAMPLE of strength and resilience never seen before! Greetings from Brazil, Monica!

OK just finished watching this interview. Barbara Walters was unprofessional and cruel. At one point she called her a “Big Mouth”. Why? …because Monica told her close friends about the relationship. That is something every girl does especially at 22 and 23 years old. The second thing she said regarding the blue dress “what many people say is, that’s disgusting! Why didn’t you clean the dress?”. Completely unnecessary. Monica Lewinsky was tortured by the media, Politicians, TV talk show hosts, late night shows, SNL tore her apart. Made fun of her weight, her clothes etc etc.. Again middle-aged adult doing this to a young girl just out of college. If this is how Barbara treated her during this interview, I could only imagine what she said behind closed doors.

She was a big mouth.this is not any man ,this is the President.she obviously loved thatbshe had an affair with the most powerful man.and not that she only told one person b,she told many.they could easily betray her out of jealousy and revenge.and look what happened.the traitor Linda Tripp did exactly that. The fact that she laughed bout the dress shoes that she wasn't aware or didn't care of her actions.Yes I was 22 once and had a crush on my 40+ sexy separated boss .He made a pass at me ,I told HR next day.I wasn't the first but I was the first to make an official report.he was suspended for 2 months and later moved to another site.So yes I'm gonna be hard on Monica cause I have strong principles .

@@Carousel5883 Unfortunately she wasn't the first mistress of Bills. It does take two but she was very immature like most girls her age which is why he picked her. You cannot compare her to the other interns, we don't even know if he made advances but since Bill has a list of women who claim he sexually harassed him I'll place 80% of the blame on him. He had more to lose but still went after her, multiple times and he had an emotional affair with her buying her books. She was 22 at the time, life experiences at 22 and 32 are very different. He had the most powerful position in the country. Many women who do refuse will often end up harassed and fired. I think Monica's childhood is a good reason as to why she ended up in this position. Her mom had affairs, she had an affair in highschool with another married man (she was a teen) to her this was normal.

It Annoys me that barbara like so many others blame the women. It’s the married man/women that breaks their vow, lies, betrays and humiliates their spouse. Monica was single and having fun. Barbara’s first question was “Why oh why would you have a relationship with a married man?” Monica should’ve replied “I’m not the one that’s married. Your question should be directed at the married man, not someone who is single”.

I don't understand why people keep suggesting that Barbara is "victim shaming" and "blaming Monica for the tryst". Barbara is interviewing Monica right now and Bill Clinton is not present to share the blame 🤦♀️. Btw, I thought this was an excellent interview. She asked some probing and thoughtful questions which allowed the audience to see Monica for who she was and further understand her motivations.

Most men tell the girlfriends that they’re separated. It’s the cheater that makes the choice of destroying their own family. Yeah women always blame the woman. For all who refer to her as young or inexperienced or imagines themselves at 22. I am quite sure none of you were anywhere near as experienced as she was. You all apparently didn't watch the same interview I did! She told all those people because she wanted it to get out. She actually started the affair by her own recount. Whatever you believe about Clinton, she was EXTREMELY experienced for a young woman of that age. She knew EXACTLY what she was doing & she was determined to do it. I don't know how many men you think would turn down a fling when it's basically thrown at them. As far as the dress goes...she kept it for evidence/proof! That proves how manipulative she is & that she wanted him because he was the President. An innocent naive young girl, who was "taken advantage of" & was in love & got a broken heart, would have washed the dress & not told everyone she knew. Telling people was her way of almost guaranteeing that it all went public & the world knew. That way Hillary would find out without her directly having to tell her!
