Drew Barrymore Exits Live Event w/ Reneé Rapp After Man Rushes Stage

Drew Barrymore is safe and sound after a frightening onstage incident. The actress and TV host joined Reneé Rapp for a conversation at the 92nd Street Y in New York City on Aug. 21 when a man appeared to rush the stage insisting to speak with Drew. Social media video from the event's livestream shows Drew and Reneé being escorted away as security surrounded the man to block him from getting any closer. The women eventually returned to a roar of supportive cheers and resumed their discussion. Access Hollywood has reached out to reps for Drew and Reneé for comment. The NYPD told Access there was no police report filed.

To me it doesn’t look staged because you can see Renee get startled the closer up he got. Drew Barrymore is a nature down to earth person and always has fans coming up to her so it’s understandable how she didn’t get scared right away. But I get how it looks staged because it does take Renee awhile to sit up but I think she was just trying to process what was happening. I also think the reason why they were so calm is that they knew they had tons of bodyguards just in case something like this happened. There both incredible people so even if it was staged it wouldn’t change how talented they are! Btw I don’t wanna cause no drama. When Drew said "Hi" right before he came up, it seemed like she was fumbling her words as if she was caught off-guard but still tried to remain professional. The security managment would have been telling them to walk away too, which seemed to startle both Renee and Drew. I believe this was a genuine reaction from both women.
