I think people forget that Melanie was offered the same “opportunity” as Mirandawith 7M. She declined bc it was sketchy. Nope, melanie brought Miranda to 7m. Mel advertised them as a duo but Robert wanted just the more beautiful more talented dancer, Miranda. I'm so happy you and your family spoke out about this. I lived in LA for eight years as a dancer and loved it! But I came across many people who fell into these traps. People are preying on young, impressionable people with big dreams. They know they are far from home and from family. Cults are a very real thing, and people can easily be manipulated into them. I'm so glad you saw it for what it was! It's crucial to be grounded and cautious of these people. I hope your sister will see it one day, too.

I followed Miranda only because I loved the dance videos. When she came out the other day with her video I truly thought her family must be terrible. I decided to watch the documentary. Wow!! She is in a cult. She’s totally under the influence. Having seen the testimonies of the other dancers and the other two ladies sealed it for me! Dear Melanie, I have had no contact with my twin for about 7 years. She chose to go no contact with everybody she knew (except maybe 1 or 2 people). She wasn't in a cult, but she was influenced by somebody. She came back before COVID hit. My parents welcomed her back, no questions asked (well some questions but not many). I feel the same as you, acting like everything is fine and dandy, but it is not. Now 4 years later i haven't talked with my twin about why she decided to leave for 7 years and what has happened in those 7 years. I see a lot of myself in you. You have so many questions and you want answers. Keep in mind that if and when she leaves the cult and comes back to the family, she might not want to talk in depth about why and how. Your parents are most likely willing to forgive and forget, which is understandable. They will do anything to keep her with them. Please don't let that stand in the way between you and your parents. One reason I "lost" my family because i kept on incisting on the "why's, what's and how's".

The documentary was so good and so very well done. I find it so interesting that Melanie was able to see the red flags of the cult when they invited her to the initial private“dinners”, while Miranda obviously did not recognize any of those same signs. I have a lot of sympathy for the family and I understand that the dancers are victims. It reminds me alot of when an alcoholic goes through the steps when they turn their life around and they have to make ammends with the people they've hurt. Miranda brainwashed or not, she hurt her family, I don't know if I see her trying to make amends. Family at this point is giving enabler vibes. It's hard because even after other dancers started to leave, the people that stayed didn't question anything, they don't even get their whole paycheck and they had to sign an NDA, as an adult, doesn't that make a little red flag go up? There are certain people and personalities that are much more likely to be pulled into a high demand high control group/cult like this. It isn’t about intelligence, and being able to see the red flags doesn’t happen the same way for everyone. I have a theory that Miranda was more vulnerable to being in a cult because she longed for a separate identity away from her younger sister and family. Maybe she felt that was her opportunity to become her own "individual"? I could be completely wrong, but I do believe there has to be some psychological reasoning for someone being susceptible to cult advantages. I've always thought - and still do - that two things can be true at once. A family can have a lot of enmeshment/toxicity AND one of them can join a cult. Like, people from toxic and enmeshed families are more likely to join cults imo, because they're looking for that same level of enmeshment outside their family of origin. Well, she did just get married & she has been dealing with this for several years now so I’m sure getting public support feels somehow hopeful. Cut her a break & possibly some grace.
