My grandpa played accordian in a Polka band back when I was growing up. Was just telling my kids about him and found your video to show them how the accordian sounds like a carnival. Thanks for keeping the tradition alive. It sounds just as happy as it always did.

We love this polka in northern Mexico, it’s called el barrilito, we replace the bass notes arrangement with a 12 string guitar called the bajo sexto ❤

Thank you Martin! This arrangement is absolutely amazing and I love it so much! It's quite a difficult arrangement but luckily I learned it a few years ago so I didn't have to rush learning it for the challenge. I've made a '31 Days of Oktoberfest' playlist to make it easier to find the videos. I appreciate all of your support!

I first heard this played by Primo Scala’s Accordion Band on a 78 my dad had, on the Rex label I think from the late ‘30s with vocal refrain. I’ve never tried the accordion, my dad used to play it by ear though, but I imagine not that easy to master.

Next up: The accordion polka played on a beer barrel. . . . . . . Sorry, couldn't resist. . Remember?? . . Once, not too long ago I was watching a piano player, marveling that humans can do completely different things with either hand! ,. Then, I realized that I've played guitar for decades !!. . AND. . I now have a piano in my house {mother-in-laws}, but only "play" a VERY tiny bit, but hardly two hands. . .

Hey Lucy, Great job with your October fest project! Listen, I’ve just uploaded a polka on my channel which I cannot find anywhere on the internet. I believe I may have the wrong title for it perhaps. Since you seem to know quite a bit of polkas I was wondering if you could check it out and see if you’ve heard it before? If so, is there an alternate title for it? I find it hard to believe that this piece is THAT obscure. Thank-you & Bravo!

Wowww great way of placing the Clarinet Polka. Can I request a song/recommend? Nana Mouskoiri sings it. De Colores and Yo vendo unos ojos negros. Both Spanish songs.Yhe second means : I sell black eyes, does not mak3 sense in English but a song that can be harmonized The worst one De Colores is a babu song ( sort of) words talk about life has many different colors.

3 of the 96 buttons are marked with a rough texture so you know where you are when you feel them. Everything else is just a reference point from those 3 buttons.

That just looks complicated. Who even made the accordion. Piano keys on one side, numerous keys/buttons and a diaphragm that has to keep moving... all of that to make music in your head. You gotta be so co-ordinated in your brain 🤯
