Hello sir, I think you've made a mistake while balancing the cashbook. On the bank column youve put 12050 as bal c/d, but if u add it with other transactions within the bank column you get 21000 and not 18000, I think Bal c/d should be 9050. Coudl you correct me if i'm wrong...

Yes that was a mistake, $18000 - $8950 = $9050 should be the bank closing balance.

discount is allowed when receiving cash and the debit side of the cash book is the receipt side, hence DA column on the debit side. And same way discount is received when paying cash so DR column on the credit side.

discount allowed means you gave someone a discount.For instance instead of the person paying 500 they pay you 300.Discount allowed in this case is 200.A 200 you would have otherwise made, so we treat it as an expense.We debit expenses .

It depends on the transaction. Read the following two transactions: 1. Paid Mr. A the balance due $500 after deducting 5% discount. 2. Paid Mr. A $500 after deducting 5% discount. In the first transaction, the total amount due is given and they tell you that amount paid will be after deducting 5% dscount. In the second transaction, they already give you the amount actually paid, so no need to deduct discount again.
