Nice looking loco i ordered efficient as its the loco i remember from the steamport museum in Southport and now at the ribble steam railway, it had the same fault as yours and by the looks of it the majority of these locos have this issue, it looks like they weren't assembled properly in the factory they tried to tell me it may have been dislodged when it was posted which i highly doubt i've asked for my new one to be tested before sending out, they send you a link to fix it yourself which looks straight forward but it doesn't mention you have to remove the pipe from either side of the boiler which i now from the earlier hattons release can break very easily so i opted to send mine back, hope you get yours sorted soon. Thanks Tom, I’m waiting with bated breath to see what Accurascale send back. I do like the model very much and you can see they used a quality motor and other parts. It’s just the design flaw that gets me. I was going to engineer a C bracket to hold everything together. But to be honest that’s like me doing their job for them…

@11:31 I hayhad the same issue with one of the two I have bought and have sent it back. Tried their suggestion of getting inside to fix and it wouldn't even separate for me to get inside. Also as you this is the first time I've owned anything accurascale and of the two, to have 50% of my accurascale collection have to go back is disappointing. Same issue motor wasn't engaging but it was also swimming in oil on the outside..did all the release the pipes as in the online instructions the pipes still broke. Not happy.

Mine won't separate either, mine was sent out to me in Australia and now probably has to go back.

Yeh it’s not easy to separate all the detail parts to remove the body shell. My guess is each time you attempt this you have a 60% chance of breaking a detail part. Not designed well really…

Mine also has this problem and the rear of the cab was bent in too.

Interesting to see that your buffer bodys are black and not painted red like the as accurascale listing, had to send mine back as the rear of the loco was damaged but also had the buffers not painted

Hi Jack, one of the viewers had mentioned that Accurascale may have changed the design back in Feb 24 to black buffer shanks to match the original locomotive and make it more prototypical. Haven’t read the news posting in Feb, but if it was changed then fair enough.

The motor is friction fitted - mine came loose when I dcc fitted it (a whole different story on how awkward that was) but once pushed back down it works.

Yeh I agree with your comments friend. But…. The brackets that hold the motor are splayed. It won’t hold unfortunately. Video being uploaded later today.

Not surprising that Dapol moved their production back to U.K
