Me and my son at Track3d railway parts were the ones that sorted the speaker upgrade .. we have quite a good relationship with Richard at roads and rails and we messaged him our results ..! Ultimately as soon as he published our findings he sold out of speakers ..!! It is a very simply upgrade and takes only five minutes.. the hardest part of the job is unplugging and plugging in the tender ..! I have Hinton manor and yeah when I first put it on the rolling rd it locked up .. took an hour of fiddling but now runs superb and has amazing crawl ..! I too found the axle box’s dry .!! We have also made another little programming upgrade as I found f2 ( active brake ) wasn’t working so we have adjusted that and also programmed a E brake or hand brake and assigned it to F23 . It is a superb looking modle but accurascale seem to of over looked quite a few other issues.

Yes, I need to change all my function key mapping to conform to the North American defaults found on my SoundTraxx Econami decoders and DCC throttles.

Kinda wish this came up before I got my Hinton Manor, thankfully the gears did have some grease on them but the bearings needed a little bit of oil so that was fun. That said I wish dealing with a lot of American steam engines was this easy to do, Bachmann especially.

Thanks for this Larry, some good info. I have Torquay Manor, have only run it for a few minutes and it is now back in its box. Will check the lubrication status as soon as I can. interesting to note that Accurrascale have just announced a life time warranty for all of their products, even products already purchased and delivered. I guess they are telling the modelling world that they stand by their products.

Thanks so much for this video Larry. I’ve had the very same issue with the Anthony Manor I purchased just before Xmas and fitted a Zimo MS581 decoder to, i.e no stay alive! Fortunately, the loco runs fine without, but at least I now have a route to explore to see if I can get it working. Annoying that Accurascale would release a model that only works properly with one make of decoder and then not tell anyone that. Iain

If you’ve seen videos on the new Class 37 they have included a dip switch that can be set for LokSound decoders, non-ESU decoders, and DC operations, so I think they learned something from the Manors.

@@TheDCCGuy Hi Larry, well after a little bit of experimenting today with my Manor I can confirm that your solution for a Tsunami2 decoder, also works with a Zimo MS581 from YouChoos that I have installed. Had to map the AUX4 output to a function key in Decoder Pro but I can now turn the stay alive on and off. Many thanks again for pointing me in the right direction with this. Can now fully enjoy what is an outstanding model. Iain

Hey Mr Larry me and the wife love your videos. Been reading your books. I'm building an ho layout 12 ft by 6 ft DCC and I'm having a little problem deciding something. I'm using Walter's new DCC friendly turnout number 6. I have two pointing each other for a siding going to my Depot. Do I need to put plastic rail joiners to my turn out or can I just solder everything with metal rail joiners do I need to do this to all my turnouts . All my frogs will be Juiced. Worried about polarity and short circuits. Thanks in advance Leo
