As a GER fan, I'm beyond excited to get a Buckjumper. I don't dabble in model railways much, but when one of the unsung icons of the National Collection is getting a model, I'm very interested in getting it. This loco has a great look, from it's dark blue livery to it's livery, and I can't wait to see how nice it will translate into 00 scale.

J69 Buckjumper + J27 Tender used on the ‘Lauder Light Railway’ in Selkirkshire, Scotland. Ex-NBR Branch to Lauder via Oxton ran from Fountainhall on the Waverley Route over open moorland and was lightly-laid from the onset. Due to the length gradient & curvature of the branchline, a Tender Locomotive was required. But due to the operational weight restriction on the branchline, no tender locomotive could be found that was light enough to traverse the route. The ingenious solution was to use an ex-GER J69 locomotive plus an ex-NERJ27 tender semi-permanently coupled together. Trains were always operated as Mixed Stock over the single-lined branch owing to the remote & rural location within the Scottish Borders, in a manner very similar to that of the ex-NBR Eyemouth Branchline.

Great choice. It would be great if Accurascale did British Railways Standard Class 3MT 77XXX 2-6-0s. Nobody models these. They are like starlings: almost pretty but also rather gawky.

Interesting. I've ordered the BR GER blue one, a loco on my list for ages due to its unique livery. However, there's a conflict between this video and the website. Website says Q1 2024 (same as the deltic batch 2), yet you say early-mid q2 here? I'm hoping you do quintarts to suit these and the oxford N7s, meaning I may need to get the oxford lined black n7 (I have the GER grey one atm).

I won't be purchasing one but I think I will say its something I didn't expect! I think you'll be helping out a lot of people who had to get a blooming terrier chassis and buy a 3d printed bodyshell, now they don't have to! Seeing the quality of Accurascale's previous products I'm sure this one will be no different hopefully 😊

Hornby's super detailed class 08 came out in 2005 and is still a decent model.
