This is a nice easy way to get accurate cuts off any miter saw with a fence.

Thank you for this! Great tips of the little details that make all the difference. Lucky daughter to have dad do this! My dad was an amazing woodworker with a workshop that would inspire even the uninterested (love your mitre saw setup and dust collection system btw) but I didn't need to know when he was alive. Now (as an artist) I cut and make all my own substrates and floater frames and am learning on my own. Videos like this are very helpful.

You're welcome and I am constantly learning to this day. I too find helpful hints from others via this medium and I wish it had been around when I was getting started. Thank for watching.

Respected sir your work is amazing and i appreciate your way of teaching in your videos. Great way of cutting pieces for picture frame we learned from your video. I noticed in the video your miter saw dust hood system which i got fascinated from i searched in your channel any video for that. My request if you could please make a video regarding that i will be grateful to you. I am struggling for my miter saw dust collection and did a lot of research but till now no tangible solution i got. Please let us learn from you regarding miter saw effective dust collection. Thanks a lot.

Where did you get the out feeds for saw and extended fence. Also what a genius set up for saw dust

Those are from Beismeyer. I don't think they are available any longer. Thanks.

I can never get mine to match up, all cut at 45's with top and bottom the same length as well as sides the same length. I always have gaps, your tip about the saw pulling the wood may be my issue, thanks for the clear explanation.

Thanks for tips. What kind of band clamp is that. Did you make your own fence with measurements?
@JeffFischer12 жыл бұрын
Standard Band Clamp but the corner pieces are shop made. I did not make my own fence.

Where do you find good picture framing wood?
@JeffFischer13 жыл бұрын
In this case I used polar. Whatever you use, as long as you can get it flat straight and square, it will work. Thanks for watching.

Is that the back of the frame you are showing to us (the camera) so your mounted picture and glass would sit in the "rabbit" but you measured the frame from the inside???
@JeffFischer12 ай бұрын
Correct. The measurements are what you need for the piece being framed. Thanks for watching.
@PatrickBartley-ek7qr2 ай бұрын
@@JeffFischer1 But in the video you are measuring not in the rabbit where the picture and glass would go, but on the inside of the front of the frame itself...???

1:27 Why set up the workpiece on the right side of blade which requires you to cross hands during the cut? Isn’t crossing hands on a mitre saw a safety no-no? I’m just a beginner but have watch a few safety videos
@JeffFischer1 Жыл бұрын
I am not holding the piece with just my hand only which would be a no no, but also with a wood clamp. The pressure I am putting on the work piece helps to eliminate any chatter that might occur. Thanks for watching.

Title typo? How about Left of the Miter Saw? Was something left "OFF"?

Don't know, it's a setup I have had for years but there are plenty of plans out there to make your own chop saw station. Thanks for watching.
