It is an absolutely heinous crime and his son needs to be brought to justice. I seriously doubt Richard Acosta had any prior knowledge of his son's intent to kill those kids or that his son had a gun. I have never heard of any case of a father abetting his teenage son in a crime like this. In our age of video surveillance he would have to be a complete idiot to drive his vehicle to the front of a store and let his son out to commit murder. If he had parked around the back and tried to hide his presence then that would show premeditation. I could find no evidence that he had any sort of criminal record. He turned himself in and made no attempt to cover up the crime. I know he was convicted but in the interest of justice I hope his conviction is overturned. I feel very bad for the victims, but punishing Richard Acosta for what his son did is not justice.
