if you watched it since the original Dragon Ball, there were set rules and death was sparse at that point... by that point in the series the only ones who had died and come back were Krillin, Master Roshi and Chiaotzu, and even that was during the King Piccolo arc, two arcs and a half ago... yeah, Goku was on his way back, too, but it still felt like an exception made for the protagonist... Yamcha's death was, if not sad, at least quite shocking at that point

Welp, time to review this episode! • Murphy's full threat to Joe is actually "So, do we put you down like they did ol' Bitey-Cat?" • This episode heavily diverges from the original light novel's plans for Officer Vink, *_thus marking this as an alternate continuity._* • AMV Alley's given significantly more buildup in the light novel, as it appears in the serial Gundam Murderer cases of the previous season. • Sasuke just fell the wrong way. L died falling to the left. ( _this may be plot-relevant._ ) • Sasuke's backstory about his grandmother is extended in the novel. Her past is revealed as such: she swore off torrenting because it estranged her from her daughter (Sasuke's mom, mentioned here as a threat by Joe), briefly quit the pirate life, but it was too late. Sasuke moved in with her some time back, after being thrown out of his home, and took care of her as he had nowhere else to go. Grandma supported his piracy out of sympathy in the light novel. • Vink actually had a backstory sidestory prior to this. ( _possibly moved to a later episode for pacing_ ) • There is actually a Holy Grail War going on in AMV Alley in the light novel that consists of the casts of One Punch Man, A certain Magical Index, Fate, Dragon Ball, Touhou, and Re:Creators. Overall: *...we're getting a new timeline, light novel fans.* *Brace yourselves!*
