I believe this reviewers numbers. Thanks! Saved me a lot of effort. Also, the milwaukee is lighter, shorter, and fits in tighter places. Make sure you pulse the on/off switch because these will miss-thread in a heartbeat! Pulsing the power also keeps it from stripping small things.

I'm a tech and I bought that AC Delco ratchet about 5 years ago. At the time it was pretty much the only option available. I don't think Milwaukee had one out yet. On the plus side it's held up pretty well. It's handled a lot of abuse and still kicking. I've used it as a regular ratchet and pulled pretty hard on it. Mine feels pretty strong. Not sure if it's the full 57ftlbs but definitely feels stronger than my friend's Milwaukee 3/8. Though the Milwaukee feels faster which would be nice for things with many fasteners. I really don't use it that much any more. Too many times I tried using it and it just wouldn't fit. I don't feel like it owes me anything though. I've definitely got my money's worth out of it. Especially for it being one of the first electric ratchets. I'm definitely sold on the new Milwaukee Fuel ratchets. Once the Christmas sales start I'm going to grab a 3/8. I already have a bunch of Milwaukee stuff so getting rid of the AC Delco unit will mean one less charger on my box which will be nice. I don't think I'll get the 1/4 one. If it's just one or two fasteners then I'm fine with just hand tools. If I'm doing any more than that then I'll have an air line handy and I'm grabbing my mini air ratchet. All in all it's definitely behind other units out nowadays. I wouldn't buy it now but I don't regret buying it when I did. It has served me well.

E Urban its a great ratchet that's built like a tank. My co worker has the new Milwaukee ratchet. It's nice but it's bigger than the older Milwaukee ratchet. Not quite as big as the ac Delco though.. However it's built like a tank.

Your setup is allowing to much flex those nails holding the tool u have to perform this test are robbing the tool of torque I would suuggest a vise or something that more secure and it may make a difference or may not butv i think its worth a try. Ac delco has a brushless version now that is a complete beast, my dad has the milwaukee brushless and they seem about on par other than the ac delco being a bit bigger and made of metal.

Don't use a cordless ratchet to break a tough bolt. Break it the normal way than use the CR to get it in or out. They are very handy.

Milwaukee actually classes it as 35ft lbs, so your test proves that it's 10ft lbs less than rated. Great review, thanks! It's frustrating how these companies lie about these tool ratings. Great review. One thing to be aware of, break loose torque is lower than seating torque, unless the bolt and nut are rusted. But in the way you are testing them , the break loose torque should be less than the seating torque. It appears that with either tool you can break loose manually so I don't think the rating is that important. The more important features to me are size and speed. For those features the Milwaukee wins hands down. I also like the battery indicator light on the Milwaukee. I think when I go to buy one, I'll get the Milwaukee.

You made a great video & 35 ft/lbs is about normal for a 12 volt electric ratchet, but the handel is long enough to easly manually break the tightest bolt. The AC DELCO Look exactly like the Harbor Freight Earthquake Electric Wrench... Made on the same assembly line in China most likly.

The torque doesn't matter much on these. They aren't impacts and if the torque is too high it'll just smash your hand against something. Just loosen it by hand or with an impact and these get them the rest of the way off, in tight spaces

Cordless ratchets are not for breaking loose OR for tightening with the motor, you break loose and tighten MANUALLY. They are bolt/nut runners,and this is true for all brands, as long as torque capable of running a rusty or dirty fastner it is sufficient

Nice review.. I've used the AC Delco at work and it is NOT balanced too nose heavy, very bulky for some areas. Milwaukee seems better suited for my needs, plus it's been proven and the batteries work with my other Milwaukee tools.

Not sure about that impact wrench but I went with the Metabo SSW18 LTX 400 BL and that thing is incredible. After the first charge I rotated my tires under 10 minutes, so I'll no longer be a regular at the local shop to rotate my muddies. So far it has lived up to all expectations.

I know I'm way late with this reply but being a technician myself I have come across many situations where a battery powered ratchet would save my life. Having said that I like the review and understand that these tools are powered by a 12v battery and will only be as strong as that battery can carry the tool. If I expect to get monstrous torque and power from these both then I'm foolin myself. Honestly in my opinion price and build quality is more important than strength with these. If I can't reach or break a bolt then out comes my trusty hand tool. But to run out or in a bunch of fasteners then out come the power ratchet. Great review bro I appreciate your time for helping me make the decision to grab the ac delco cordless combo kit g12 brushless series with a 3/8 ratchet and 3/8 gun for the low price of 220. Talking about the Milwaukee Fuel ratchet I don't know bro. But to get more for the money I have to say delco wins. Also who's to say the delco will have longevity in the end? Probably not but think about this. If you were able to get 2 different pieces for the price of one would you buy it or go with just the one piece. I've been on the fence for a week thinking of which one to get. I want the delco combo kit but I know the Milwaukee is better but it cost way more!

I also have the AC Delco (never use it, too big), had the Snap on ratchet (sold it, too big), the Milwaukee is what i would buy time and time again because it makes me a lot of money. It fits everywhere, saving me a lot of time, which makes me more money. The faster you are the more money you make if your flatrate.

Kindly read properly. Its not ACDelco failing me; it is Milwaukee. Milwaukee M12 can't break a bolt tightened at 10NM torque. Where, ACDelco ARW1201 breaks upto 25NM. I did not try beyond. I bought ACDelco because Milwaukee wasn't breaking bolt. Why someone buy a battery operated wrench? To break bolt/nut. If I have to manually turn M12 to break bolt/nut then what is the problem to us ratcheting manual wrench. I give ACDelco WINNER vote, despite its size. Because, I expect them to the work they are designed for.

Hi Jason. I agree with what you said. At my point of view, ARW1201 satisfied my requirement, where Milwaukee M12R fail to do so. But I can't deny that Milwaukee has a great designing appetite that satisfies people's expectation in convenience, size, power and beauty. I am a Milwaukee fan and have imported all Milwaukee tools in multiple quantities from USA for personal use. M12 Ratchet is the only one I parted with.

Great test review. Just because I use AC-Delco parts on my Chevy trucks doesn't mean I want to use a tool with AC-Delco on it. I'm always seeing positive reviews and comments about Milwaukee cordless tools, I may end up going that route to replace using my air tools. I'm still looking at other brands as well for now.

Donald Hollums other brands are good when it comes to cordless ratchets, but Milwaukee has the most compact design. so I prefer it over the snap on... however matco has a cordless ratchet that is pretty damn small too. but I have not seen another as compact and useful as the Milwaukee cordless ratchet.

why not torque the bolt with each ratchet and then use the torque wrench to see how tight the nuts are?

Mainly because breakaway torque is what I think is most important. Though they probably put out the same amount of torque in forward as they do in reverse. That is a good method as well.

These days, in 2022, the ACDelco 1201 has a smaller head and narrower neck. You are supposed to use the wrench as a standard ratchet and break the nut loose, te hit the trigger to spin the nut off. You are doing it the wrong way!

The torque ratings doesn't mean much on cordless wrenches. That's not what they're made for. They're basically for loosening and tightening speed to help speed up your task at hand. That ACDELCO is beefy and that medal body makes for a durable tool.

It may be that the ACDelco can tight a bolt to the advertised torque but not break it free? Maybe try tightening a bolt to the max using the tool and then loosening it with the torque wrench? Try tightening a bolt with the tool and then seeing if the tool can loosen it.

Thanks for taking the time to make the video and thanks for acknowledging that the torque wrench might not be dead on accurate. I picked up the milwaukee based on this and other videos I watched. I'm honestly shocked by how nice it is for the price. I have several things from the ingersoll 20v cordless line up and I was looking to add their 20v cordless ratchet to my collection but I just couldn't get past the size of the damn thing. It makes that ac delco look compact. It seems to me that they (ingersoll) just made it so they could say they have a cordless ratchet in their 20v line. Doesn't seem like they gave much consideration to making it comparable to the air powered equivalent. You know as well as I do that from an automotive standpoint if I'm going to an air ratchet it's generally because I'm working in a space limited situation. The last thing I want is to be wielding a ratchet the size of a subway foot long.

Honestly, I don't understand why people take these electric ratchets as if they were Torque wrenches! We All know what a "Breaker bar" is and what it's for.. We also know that the reason for an electric ratchet is so that in difficult or plain places we don't have to go "crik, crik, crik with a mechanical ratchet for a length of time. Any cordless ratchet that does 40 lbs and below is fine for JUST driving in or out a nut or bolt. The heavy force is left up to the breaker bar and torque wrench. The Vonhaus, AC delco, Earthquake xt, Milwaukee and various no name brand ratchets work just fine to do One job, drive in or out nuts and bolts that's ALL!

Many people say the little milwaukee has a weak head and is prone to breaking. Well thats because many people try to use it like a breaker bar. I still have the first one i purchased probably 6 years ago and it still works. But i know its not a breaker bar...

Thanks for the review. That looks like a HF torque wrench. Mine are pretty accurate, but in your test I think it is more important that it be repeatable. I found this video in searching for a comparison of the two ratchets. One thing I was wondering was the relative size of the two and your video shows that very well. I am going to get the M-12, mainly based on the size; the small difference in torque is less significant for me. I have a Skil 1/4 inch battery powered ratchet that is much weaker, but I still use it a lot just for running nuts on and off. I have a bad back and the less time I spend bent over, the better. You know, I'm wondering if the fact that you had the bolt in a socket sitting in a ratchet caused you to lose a little bit of torque in our tests. Sort of the same away you loose torque when you use adapters--the little bit of clearance in between the ratchet head and the socket combined with the clearance between the socket and the bolt head could all cause torque loss. I'd like to see the test repeated with the bolt clamped in a vice, you know? Might be worth doin'. But great video overall, man.

Nice video and test. Your correct in that the Milwaukee is a better tool much smaller , you can get it into a much tighter spot and it has a huge company backing it and parts are standardised and available. The guy who owns the rights to the ACDelco name is an austrailan guy, I forget his name but he imports all kinds of chinesium garbage branded with that name. Sadly I think it takes advantage of GM fans. You can look and there is like 5 different 12 v impacts or ratchets with that name . I'm a Ford fan and even I think its sad. Sometimes some of the products are OK but not the best for sure. I bought the Milwaukee and a Harbor Freight Earthquake just like this AC Delco basically for 99.00 w/battery and charger at their parking lot sale and I agree I like the Milwaukee the best by far.

Auto Fix Pal question, I got a car that is a automatic and when I reach about 25-30 mph it jerks a lil like a standard does when shifting is that normal? also when I'm getting on the freeway my car takes a while to reach 60 mph i can press the gas all the way down and it won't go faster what could be the problem on why it takes a while to catch speed your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I AM NOT CONVICED WITH HIS REVIEW. I OWN BOTH YOU SEE IN THE REVIEW. In the video, AC Delco doing well because battery is not fully charged. 1st time charge must be 7 hrs, despite charger shows charged. I reviewed both in many ways. I tightened a car under-bonnet bolt to 10NM with a new technology TORSION SOCKET with just 10NM. Then tried to break it with Milwaukee, but failed. ACDelco, no problem, broke easily; felt nothing. Then started going up with 15NM, 18NM, 25NM. ACDelco broke all the times, where Milwaukee could not break even the lowest 10NM. I had 2 of Milwaukee M12 Ratchet; one I sold due to this. And the 2nd one will also go under hammer soon. ACDELCO AA+++. Can't give AAA+++ because of several disadvantages. It is large in size and heavy in weight, no fuel gauge, and higher vibration than Milwaukee. On the other hand, I like Milwaukee for its size, colour and its beauty. However, while breaking, I had to say all time sH***, bD*** 10s of time, because it des not have breaking ability. Now I am replacing it with 1/4 drive ACDelco ARW804. I just posted what found from the review of both personally.

I have the 1/4 Milwaukee rachet love it battery last a long time if it doesn't break it lose I just use it like a regular rachet then push button so it takes what I'm taking off fast. If I need the 3/8 I just use my air rachet. Maybe one day I'll buy the 3/8 but probably not

The attachment point of the bolt and nut, and the deep socket you're loosing alot of torque. A better test would be to use a short nut and bolt, and a short socket and secure that bolt into a vice. If you look at how torque sticks work, it's the length that limits the torque. But good real life test you got there.

Its fastening torque not breakaway torque. If you want more power when breaking loose you can get the ratchet started and slip it on to the bolt then its more like ~50ft lbs of breakaway torque. When fastening the ratchet gets up to speed and only then full torque is achieved.

PS. i know that sounds like a good way to strip bolts but it works.. 50ft lbs isnt enough to strip anything above 7/16 head anyways..

Great video im a master tech myself and am currently still in the field i have the snap on. 1/4in cordless ratchet i use everyday those are rated at 35 ft lbs ive had it for 2 years and its stil going strong i like it because its the fastest electric ratchet out there 400rpm. but the there prices are grossly inflated but can you do video with breaking the nut while the tools are already turning before placing them on the nuts or bolts you wont strip it if you use matco or snapon sockets i do it all the time and i think because of the inertia it breaks loose bolts that are fastened tighter

Don't assume that because its Snap-on or Matco that it can't do the same or that it's more durable. I did the test this way because i Think the ratchets are rated the same way. The Milwaukee is also rated at 35ft lbs amzn.to/2jTbsQf but only 250 RPM however the milwaukee and the matco (not in this video) ratchets are the smallest you can buy. My coworker has the 3/8" Snap-on cordless ratchet and its considerably bigger in size mostly at the head, but the body is bigger as well. Former coworker had the matco 1/4" cordless and it was about the same size as the milwaukee which was really nice. the milwaukee ratchet is only $99 dollars tool only.

New subscriber here. My name is Dan. Started my own mobile mechanic business and can say it's going okay. I could always be busier. lol one thing I feel like I need is that collapsible service cart by Olympia when I'm out in the field just to keep things organized. I loose alot of time looking for a socket, extension, tool etc. that I used earlier in a teaspoon and that would save money in my opinion. Maybe you could use the same thing or you have found another technique. either way I would like to know. thanks for the review which was better than most.

I own the Milwaukee and love it! thanks for the review. I have found I can break free fasteners better if i spin up the ratchet then slide the socket over the fastener(while the ratchet is spinning) i wonder how both will perform if you did that? good video thanks!

Their not impact wrenchs,try cranking the bolt down all the way down with both ratchets and test that with your torque wrench in break away. I'd bet they tighten to 45ish and might have 30 to 35 break away ftlbs.

Supposedly that Harbor Freight cordless ratchet has 65 lb ft of torque. Any reviews on that one?

Take a Close look at that harbor freight Ratchet then take a close look at the AC delco in this video.. Do you see the resemblance? They are essentially the same ratchet. This is my guess I don't have any hard facts to prove this yet, but they look VERY VERY much alike, they are both HUGE. So i would probably place a bet that they come out of the same factory. But yes thats a good idea. Maybe i will do a video comparison with that ratchet as well.

Just did. You are dead on. I bet you correct. Wonder if the just use a smaller gear for the torque spec. But yes the AC and Earthquake are too big. I'd rather have the Milwaukee and manually break bolt. Then run them down with the tool. Take care and look forward to the next review!

Very nice. The mighty Snap On brand. Always asking myself is it worth the money or just a name right. But I know a lot of people who live by that brand generations of folk inheriting grand pa or dads Snap on tools cause they never break.

That is not the fuel wratchet eather. I believe the newer fuel is rated at 55 ft pounds. I think its closer to 35 foot pounds but whatever. I do not like the idea of breaking frozen bolts with something like that. I have broken too many rusted bolts off. In Michigan , you do not want to use too much power on a rusted bolt. I hate broken studs.

yes the newer Ratchets have more power. But at the expensive of being bigger. Not a good trade off IMO. ill stick to my first Gen ratchet. They still sell the first Gen milwaukee ratchets. in fact its the best selling cordless on Amazon. Atleast thats what Amazon says. lol

Reverse is 86 ft lbs so thats 40% more than he tested. The ratchet did about 35% of that.

Harbor freight extreme torque claims 60ft lbs. I have no idea wether it can actually do it but highly unlikely.

also its not recommended to break loose bolts with a torque wrench you will destroy your tool and the mess up the accuracy
