Recovered security cameras and a cellphone video from a person who died near-instantly at the scene reveal what happened inside that chamber over a few short seconds on that fateful day. Before the judge could even utter a word, Manfred Von Karma had shouted out out a single phrase seconds before detonating his explosives: “It was I, Von Karma that FOOLED you all! Now your records shall not stand and WILL GO DOWN RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, *J U S T L I K E M I N E D I D !* AHAHAHA-“ Phoenix Wright, the extremely popular and mildly famous defense attorney, was the only person to get a few simple words out in response to this just before a monumental explosion rocked Japan. “Von Karma No-“ The homemade explosives on Von Karma’s body turned out to be of a much higher yield that he had planned for them to be, as he was an evil mastermind lawyer after all, and not a chemist, which resulted in a blast causing the complete devastation of almost anything the area. Nobody knows how he got enough explosives or material to do what he did, but one thing was clear: 2 blocks of the dense Japanese City were gone, reduced to rubble, with only a few survivors remaining inside of the circle. Not to mention the injuries and additional deaths/damage that occurred when the blast wave shattered windows and caused accidents as far out as 6 blocks from the epicenter. When all was said and done, we’ll over a billion dollars in damage was recorded, but the cost in human lives was the real tragedy. 6,759 people died in the incident, as crowds had gathered from miles around to see the result of this famous case now lost to time. It also wasn’t helpful that the the courthouse was located in a bustling part of the city located near the train station. It was the world single explosion in Japan since the nuclear bombs were dropped during the Second World War. Only two people managed to survive the blast at the courthouse where the trio was taking place. They consisted of a small girl named Pearl, who had been located behind one of the benches, and a man named Apollo, who was another defense attorney watching from the other side of the courtroom. The little girl, Pearl, had the remaining parts of her family that weren’t already in jail killed in this explosion and Apollo lost all the friends he had made along his life’s journey and watched some of them die, unable to do anything to help. Pearl watched her older sister, Maya Fey, die underneath a chunk of wall dislocated in the explosion. Both of the miraculous survivors from the court house had one thing in common: they didn’t know where to go and had no path in life, but that changed. Because her entire family was now dead, nobody had custody over little Pearl, so as someone who had lost everyone he knew and was out to build new connections, Apollo adopted Pearl and quit being an Attorney. He acted as a great father figure to her and his purpose in life was built around assisting Pearl to adulthood, even letting her get back into the spirit channeling stuff once the trauma had been forgotten enough. As years and years passed after the incident and Pearl grew up more, Apollo had someone he could relate with and even if that person WAS his adopted child, he was happy. This didn’t rid him of the trauma Von Karma had put him through in the past though, as sometimes, in some places, once in a long while, you will find him in a daze debating casually with thin air and shouting phrases used back in the good old days. His imagination and some parts of his brain were still coping with the loss of his friends, but he was slowly getting better. The only thing he could really do was put one foot in front of the other and continue to go through life with Pearl at his side…
