Japanese TV spot
ACE COMBAT 3 electrosphere -美少女篇・15秒- ("beautiful girl version, 15sec")
Introduction
Hello, NISI here. The topic this time is "Ace Combat 3." When I saw a video of the game under development, I was impressed by the beautiful graphics. 2 looked great, but 3 looks great, too. The other day, during a planning meeting for the TV commercial, I saw the CG and animation during a break, which were also amazing! I was impressed by the CG and animation between the acts that I saw for reference at a TV commercial planning meeting the other day.
The staff for the TV spot was surprised at the quality of the footage: "Couldn't you make a movie out of it?" Oddly enough, this is what convinced them about why this was a two-disc game...
Interview
"3" is not just an ordinary airplane game. It is packed with "drama" depicted from the viewpoints of various fighter pilots in a near-future world.
We focused on this aspect of the game and tried to create a refreshing feel with the sight of a female pilot flying through the deep blue sky.
The girl featured in the commercial is Marie Fukaya. The game is set in the near future, so we asked her to wear a combat suit that fit the setting. That costume was made in just one week, so it was a lot of work for the costume designer. What do you think? Does it look good on her?

"A story unlike anything in this world"? You betcha! It predicted something that probably is close to reality now: corporations becoming far more powerful than the world's governments.

Not to mention neural interfaces and brain copies on computers. Since we're already seeing Neuralink from Elon Musk and Valve are researching neural interfaces to implement in video games, I think AC3 predicted the 2040s' technological state perfectly. Also, fun fact: The human body can withstand G-Forces which are much higher horizontally compared to vertically (Around 9 vertical Gs being near maximum for highly trained pilots compared to 20 horizontal Gs being possible for untrained individuals), which means that developing a fighter jet which allows pilots to be laying down would enable super-maneuverability just like in AC3 (many of the current fighter air frames are already capable of pulling more than 10 Gs but are limited for the Pilot's sake) making it very likely to be a much desired feature once technology allows for irl COFFIN. This is most likely when (if ever) we will see forward swept winged aircraft such as the Su-43 finally be completed and manufactured, as the instability issue would be mitigated via computers (the size of which could be infinitesimally smaller than those used during the 1990s, allowing for more precision and redundancy,) and the super-maneuverability would necessitate such a design. However, I suspect AI might replace humans before technology gets there, and if not, very shortly after. Interestingly enough, AC3 also predicted this, with Nemo being an AI itself and having superior skills to all known human pilots, including Dision who didn't even have a body limiting his capabilities.

@@EnigmaGameMaster That's a lot of information. Mind sharing your sources? Seems like a company such as Neucom might soon come into being, the only thing being the amount of time before it does become science fact. We already have CyberDyne (which doesn't make T-1000s, but is a Japanese robotics company that develops Hybrid Assistive Limb exoskeletal frames), but who knows what the future may bring?

@@EnigmaGameMaster the x-29 and su-47 were failed experiments - forward swept wings may offer extreme maneuverability but they are more liable to twisting and tearing themselves off the fuselage at high g's than ordinary wings notice how sukhoi used conventional wing layout for the equally supermaneuverable su-57 and lockheed martin did the same with the f-22
