TheDihan8 I think it's because they never had a global war like WW1 and WW2. We have the United Nations to solve issues diplomatically. Our world wars showed how horrible and evil these conflicts can be. I don't Strangreal ever had that kind of large scale conflict. However, the detonation of those nuclear bombs will be the first step towards world wide peace.

Ace Combat 5 makes the Belkan War feel so quick and clean. Like the bombs dropped and that marked the end of it and it was a simple black-and-white affair. Fucking love how Zero took this simple setup and twisted it into a far grimmer tale, such that Belka's self-nuking happens only 2/3rds of the way through that game and how that... really didn't fix much. And for that matter, that Osea and the Allied Forces' conduct as the war dragged on got the better of them too, leading to a situation where countless people on all sides of the war just went "fuck nationalism" and tried to fix shit themselves. But war's such a horrific thing that even the people objecting to the circumstances that lead to the war in the first place became monsters as well. MEANWHILE DURING ALL OF THIS IN USEA: Phoenix is making bank soloing an insurrection trying to take over a tourist hotspot.

I prefer Ace Combat 4 personally. I felt the game play was better while still having an engaging story. Ace Combat 5 is the best story wise though. You could just watch the cutscenes and pretend it wasn't even a video game. Ace Combat 6 tried to combine the story telling of 5 with the game play of 4 but it didn't really meet either expectation resulting in a good but not great installment into the series. Almost anything is better than Assault Horizon though.

It's all a matter of perspective. AC5 and AC0 showed us that from the perspective of either side, they are the heroes, and the enemy is the villain. Belka's jingoistic pride came from the ruling party that took power before the Belkan War. However, the turmoil that led to that was caused by Osea taking advantage of Belka and the independence of countries like Ustio. After Belka's defeat, that party, along with the restructured North Osea Gründer industries, would form the Grey Men to destroy the nations that waged war against them all those years ago. Really, AC is one of the best depictions of modern geopolitics I've ever seen. There are no undebatably good or bad guys (maybe except for Aurelia and Leasath), it's as gray morality as you can get. How black or white that morality is depends on the perspective and the player.

This sparks sooo much nostalgia.. so many memories, a save file with hundreds of hours on it. I preordered ac7 the day before launch just to have this ip on my ps4. Best purchase ever. I mean yeah I played ac7, I love ac7… but the unsung war is literally my childhood bro. Me and my dad played the holy trinity sooo much. Got AC04 on ps2 when I was a 4 year old. I played these games so much that I can hear the radio chatter crisp as day when I stop and think about the game. I recommend anyone that hasn’t done it yet to go check out project wingman. It’s some good shit and it scratches an itch in my brain. It might not be the utmost polished game ever made but it was made by like 3 people and most of the voice cast were volunteers. If you have Xbox it’s on game pass and if you have pc that’s the only other platform you can access it on (pc is better obviously but I’m on Xbox)

@CadrinHaverit You kinda misunderstood. ACZero takesplace in 1995, while AC4 in 2004. By then, the fragments were destroyed and Arkbird was sent up in the sky to destroy any remnants left of the Ulysses. Stonehenge was not captured by Erusian forces until 2003.

@ch1995 Pixy explained his reasons in the final interview. After the massacre at Hoffnung, he couldn't stand to see people fight anymore. Because of that he left the Ustio Air Force and joined 'A World With No Boundaries'. He wished for a perfect world void of war, but after the war he realised that he did something wrong. He finally realised that trust is needed in a peaceful world... but that it'll never happen.

AC4 starts in 2004, Erusea officially declared war and attacked stonehenge practically immediately after planetfall, Erusea then goes on their long crusade across Usea that lasts a number of years and then just as Erusea is about to capture all of Usea the game starts and you begin fighting back in 2004. I've got a link to a pretty in depth account of almost every single thing in Usea that has to do with AC4 if you want it.

There were more nations that were involved, just they weren't major enough to mention. Some of Sapin join Belka as seen when you're fighting Espada squadron in AC0 and Ustio was once a part of Belka, the only reason Ustio is mentioned so much in AC0 is because you're working for them, if you were a merc for Osea I'm sure you'd hardly ever hear of Ustio. Also Osea took advantage of their economic problems and attacked Belka first, that may be why they were so bitter towards Osea.

I would definitely buy the remake of this. I played AC6 and it sucked. This one was awesome, the best of the series. I was on the verge of tears when chopper died. I wish I had this for my 360.

5 was easily the best followed by 4. 6 was great in it's own way. I for one loved the massive battles, and the fact that some missions allowed you to land in an active warzone and take off was awesome, that and the saturation attack you got when the support meter was filled. Not only that it had one of the best final missions in the series. 7's final mission was very disappointing in comparison.

@CadrinHaverit The Circum-Pacific War (Yuktobania vs Osea) happened because Belka coaxed both sides into war as means of getting revenge for defeat in the Belkan war (since Yuktobania and Osea were both allies during the war), hoping that the war would 'exhaust them both'. I love the storylines in Ace Combat too :) well I can't help it, Ace Combat is my favourite game series of all time.

@ch1995 Ace combat 5 is based on events after the end of the belkan war (belka being the nazi germany of the AC universe) and how it manipulated the 2 superpowers into a war and long term stalemate allowing them to sell there wepons to both nations therefore being given an oppotunity to annex its land back and re-build its nation. Ace combat Zero: Focuses on the belkan war, a modern take on WW2 where the allied nations fight the belkans who have attempted to pretty much take over the world.

@CloneShift I say that Osea seems like US,Ustio as France,Belka as Germany,Yuktobania as Russia,Estovakia as a left wing country in the soviet region,Gracemeria as a right wing country in the soviet region(the AC6 countries seems like some sort of post yuktobania occupation regions),and there is also Aurelia and leasat as some countries in south America or something like it. Its a shame that they drop the countries concept ,I liked it a lot,in any case there is no England simulated country.

I like AC5's story moar, tho. I have yet to watch the entire game and I still don't get why Yuktobania tried to invade Osea, but the tale of Belka was downright wicked sick, yo. I liked the spin-off AC Zero, too. It felt like those guys had weapons of mass destruction flying out of their assembly lines. You had to sympasize with the invaded Ustio which kinda resembled Poland in a way. Also, all the characters, the narrative, the epic soundtrack, were all better in AC5 than in AC6. Best AC evar
