Ace Combat 5 (Emulated) - M26: Sea of Chaos

Two world powers pitting their mighty fleets against us, the unknown and unsung. And they. Get. Rekt. Anderson's playing the wrong tune: he should have been blasting the March of the Resistance.
Naval combat at its finest. The enemy ships and aircraft may lack the aggressiveness both have in ACX's Armada, but their distribution is far more balanced - my only gripe is the aircraft spawning at your 12 o'clock, which can drag you away from the naval battle, but that's avoidable. And really, as much as I'm a gameplay-first kind of guy, this mission strikes all the right emotional chords with me. Not so much the music or the cheesy international friendship, but the resistance and counterattack against superior might, against superpowers, the world order and the odds be damned - hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng.

The Yuktobanian defection, sinking of the defecting ship, and subsequent defection are probably one of the most emotional scenes in the entire series for me. Something about it really gets me and I almost tear up every time.

All the ships are destroyed, I've just got two enemy planes left. I go vertical, end up behind them, and at that moment the rest of my squadron appears in front of me. I do nothing; my allies let out a flurry of missiles right in front of me. The soundtrack reaches its end, along with the mission. One of the most beautiful moments I've ever experienced. Love this game.

The PS2 era Ace Combat games feature some of the best story telling not only on the console, but in video game history. Ace Combat 5's story is so incredible, it's hard to really describe in words.

This song is what got me into Ace Combat. The song transitioning to non-diagetic at 4:57 is the most beautiful moment in the entire franchise. Is it cheesy? Yeah. But at the same time it's also very mature and unexpected. Before I got into Ace Combat, I thought it was a generic war simulator. All those wasted years.

As an Air-to-Sea fan, this mission is pretty much perfect for me, it'd be my favorite mission in the game if it just had different music, I know Journey Home has a strong place in the plot and all, but I'll take Fire Youngman or Alect Squadron/Armada over it anyday!

Alright, I'll let up on AC5 for a bit. These last few missions really are fun. Not a lot of "script padding", lots of enemies... It really does come together in the end. Also, Decoder has probably the most badass Rafale B ever. Jesus. What does decoding have to do with that paint job anyways?

My only problem with this mission is Swordsman. When he says “they don’t know us, we’re supposed to be dead” no Swordsman the three of us are supposed to be dead. You’re the one we let shoot “us” down when fleeing Sand Island

That's my whole point with Swordsman talking like he's been there this entire time when in fact he wasn't. By the time he comes into play Chopper was already dead sadly. And, all that was left was Grim, Nagase and "you" as Blaze. I get where you're trying to go with the four planes and the four emblems thing. But my entire point is about Swordsman acting like he has been there the entire time, when we ALL know that isn't the case.

That's the best mission to Farm money, and that's why: 1st: get the falken 2nd: play this mission in hard 3rd: finish it in 2~4 minutes 4th: get profit 5th: repeat 2nd stage to 5th stage untill you get enough money.

It's not one of my favorite ACs, due to missions being too scripted, with repetitive gameplay, long waiting times, and small scale battles in general. This mission is certainly an exception though, it's fantastic.

I don't know why, but i forgot the 'Weird' accent of the Yuktobanian officers are supposed to be 'Russian' accent. I guess that's what happens when the human models were smooth CGI made that is works of Japanese studios. Not that I'm nitpicking against it, i rather somewhat liking it

Absolutely, most likely on PC. And I hope to perform better there, as since I never owned a PS2, I'm less experienced in the PS2 trilogy than most of the fanbase. Specially my gun marksmanship, really need to improve on that.
