The Su-37 can shoot missiles backwards in real life, it is nice to see they kept that detail for the enemies flying that plane in the game.

Si, el Su-37 fue uno de los primeros aviones de combate diseñados con un radar en la cola y la posiblidad de disparar misiles hacia atras. (No en el juego, me refiero a la vida real)

Claresa Prama Actually the story changes quite a lot, aside from the main arc. To the OP: it's sort of a morality system: Knight means you don't destroy any yellow targets (crippled aircraft and items of dubious importance). Soldier is middleground. Mercenary is destroy everything. Mercenary means you get more money (which you use to buy new planes and secondary weapons) but also fight tougher aces in most of the encounters. It also effects which ace team interview cutscenes you get, what people in the missions say about you, and the fates of some of the characters.

The different styles change the story a little by changing which boss teams you fight, what allies and enemies say about you when the game plays the cutscenes, and how many credits you get. To be a mercenary style ace, you need to destroy all the yellow targets in the missions. Those are targets like civilian buildings, damaged enemy planes, retreating enemies. The aces you fight as a mercenary are: rot team, Schwartz team, and Sorcerer team. Gelb team, the one faced at the end of this mission, and Esparza team are faced no matter what ace style you are. What changes is what they say about you.
