"The Belkan War is shrouded in mystery. But now, a decade after the peace accords, a portion of the records was finally released. I quickly got a hold of it. There was a reason for my obsession. The roots of the war lie in the Belkan Federal law review that took place in 1988. Bella, suffering from economic strife, allowed its eastern territory to secede, and the Republic of Ustio was born. But Belka's economic troubles did not subside. Meanwhile, taking advantage of the situation, the world superpower Osea continued to flourish. Amidst the economic panic, an extreme right wing party took power within Belka, aiming to restore power and stability to the nation. And on March 23rd, 1995, with the discovery of natural resources in Ustio, Belka began to invade its neighbors. It was the beginning, of the Belkan War. Unprepared, each nation fell quickly before the might of the legendary Belkan Air Force. In response, the occupied Ustio military government placed all their hopes on a joint operation between Osea and the foreign mercenary forces. This of course can be found in any history book. But I noticed a strange similarly between the materials I gathered. There were several accounts about a mercenary, all followed by the code word 'demon.' But most of the information was incomplete. Still, I was intrigued. I decided to persue the war through this mercenary. I was certain I would find something there. Would it be the hidden truth behind the war, or just another battle field legend? I was never able to meet the mercenary himself. Actually, it's questionable if he ever did exist. But thanks to some old friends in the military, I was able to track down several individuals who knew him. 'Solo Wing,' is one such man."

If you look at the cutscene listings, all interview clips with a certain Ace are filmed on a single day. Some of them are filmed in September, but for a solid month or so, there’s nothing, until Nov 25th, the last interview. Why stop here when the assault record indicates that there should be even more aces that fought the Demon Lord? Because even if “the legend” of the Demon Lord couldn’t be Confirmed or denied, on that autumn day, he found what he was looking for: proof that the _man_ who was the inspiration for the Demon Lord legend was in fact real.

It's possible those ace records may still be classified by the time Thompson does his interviews, and we're just seeing them as a sort of extra-canon bonus. He did say in this very cutscene that only a *portion* of the records were made public, after all.

Agent1W Mmm I know where you're going with this but Demon Lord was his own legend of the skies, Razgriz was a terror that sought to destroy all that stood in it's path, only to die. And then when it came back to life did it stand as a hero. Of course Razgriz was an old and vague fairy tale that Nagase had an old book of, and any mention of the demon was the one that everyone was familiar with. Perhaps the hero Razgriz was a continuation made popular thanks to the death and revival of Wardog Squadron to Razgriz.

It's absolutely genius that Project Aces told this story from the perspective of a reporter. In both story and music this game is a work of art. Unfortunately, I think that's partially because the game is a snapshot of the turmoil from the mid 2000's. They wanted to capture that, and like the reporter telling the story, I think they did very well.

The anime sub vs dub war is shrouded in questions about which one is better. But now, a decade after the great arguments, a portion of the archived announcements and trailers was finally released. I quickly got a hold of it. Wanting more details, I acquired informations even from the most obscure sources. There was a reason for my obsession. The roots of the war lies where there are few of poorly made dubs from foreign movies that has been the subject of mockery in 1980's. Central Park Media, releasing dubs in anime, in varying ranges of quality, from mediocre to plain bad... And the Cowboy Bebop dub was born. But the hatred against English dub did not subside. Meanwhile, taking advantage of the situation, many other anime licensors in America releasing dubs in a very rapid pace. Amidst the rising popularity of anime back in 2000's, 4Kids also joining the scene, aiming to localize anime to the point it radically changes the actual plot from most of the anime they're once owned. And, on late 2000's, during the great crisis, with the internet was getting faster back then, It was the beginning of the sub vs dub War. Unprepared, each of the companies shuts down their doors, In a span of five years, leaving only Funimation that's left in the industry. In response, the dub fans, placed all their hopes on a joint operation between Funimation, Sentai Filmworks, and Aniplex. This of course, can be discussed with dubbed anime enthusiasts. But I noticed a strange similarity in the materials I gathered. There were several accounts about a dub watcher all followed by the codeword "Zero". But most of the information was incomplete. Still, I was intrigued. I decided to pursue the history of the sub vs dub War through this dub watcher. I was certain I would find something there. Would it be the hidden truth behind the war? Or just another battlefield legend? I wasn't able to meet that dub watcher himself. Actually, it's questionable if he ever did exist. But thanks to some former Haruhi Suzumiya fans, I was able to track down several individuals who knew him. "Grip Runner 420" is one such man.

And, on Ferbruary 24th, 2022, with Ukraine leaning further towards NATO and with false claims of neo-nazi persecutions, Russia began to invade its neighbor. It was the begining of the War in Ukraine. Unprepared, the border defenses fell quickly before the might of the legendary Russian Ground Forces. In just a few days they occupied a fourth of the country and reach the gates of the capital city of Kyiv. In response, the beseiged Ukrainian government military placed all their hopes on the intelligence and weapons deliveries from the western democracies. This of course, will be found in any history book.
