Thinking about the disconnect that exists within the Ace family is wild. Everything, literally everything, is for their appearance. They bathed their children in freezing water inside of a multimillion dollar mansion. They cooked meals on a hot plate in a dazzling kitchen full of brand new appliances. It's actually sickening. They could have lived modestly, even semi-luxuriously, with warm water and working appliances, yet they chose to forego basic human needs in the name of their own appearance. Residential architect here. The purpose of the certificate of occupancy is for the city to verify that the home is SAFE to live in and meets code. This is why no matter how much money you have, you cannot “pay” to get a certificate of occupancy. If they don’t have a C of O, chances are the home was not verified safe to live in.
