Such a shame that we have people cutting down a man who is literally responsible for many successful guitarist today. Ace is a legend. He is not only a great guitarist, but was part of what was the biggest Rock Band in the world. Ace -- IS A LEGEND! Now this being said, those of you who criticize his playing ability or try and compare his playing ability to others have not fully developed your skills enough to understand that it is NOT-- how fast you play -- its WHAT you play that counts. Ace isnt trying to be like anyone else --THEY ARE TRYING TO BE LIKE HIM!!. Kiss gave life -a soul- to every song they played. This is why their songs will never die. This is what separates the true artist from those who will will never be. So remember this the next time before you cut down a true Rock legends playing ability.

I was born in 1963 and have been a KISS fan since the first time I heard them. Despite their business dealings, personality clashes or anything else I still like the original lineup of Paul, Peter, Ace and Gene. Those guys have always sounded great together. I lived in Colorado from 1984 to 2012 and got to see them in concert twice. The second time was during their first farewell tour at their Denver stop. My mother had got on the Ticketmaster website and tried steady for about an hour and a half to get a ticket for me. She finally got one for me, I was on the ice hockey rink at Pepsi Center about halfway back from the stage. So when they start playing Love Gun Paul gets on a steel cable zipline, cruises along it and stops at a satellite stage nust down from where I was sitting. He was so close I could see scratches on his guitar and sweat on his face. At one point they had confetti falling from the ceiling and I got some that I still have in a plastic bag.

I also turned my buddies on to Kiss and "Shock Me" with huge house speakers in the back of my van, while driving through town, blasting this song full on, blowing weed, pounding beers, head banging hard, steering the van with my knee. Hey was the seventies, was a serious party time. Oh yeah!!

ACE, if you read this... From the bottom of my heart, Thank You. You've inspired me (and countless others), in so many ways. Your guitar work is epic. There's so much raw melodic energy in your style, you are untouched. Cheers!

I was actually present at the 1976 concert in Lakeland when Ace was electrocuted!! At the time, they(Kiss),were touring with Uriah Heep...Man,that was a freaky moment,when he got zapped..Nobody was aware of what had just occurred...The atmosphere went from ear splitting decibels,to very dark and eerie quiet...The cool thing first of all,was that God in His infinite mercy,spared his life...then,for him to return to the stage less than 1/2 hour after the incident...Wow,what an evening that was..

genius guitar solo...as a 10 yr old kid i learned, from ace, the value of a guitar solo being a hit song within a hit song - not a note wasted.....
@WeDontWantYourWar3 жыл бұрын
yup - melodic and memorable.. its not just the notes, but the stops that make the solos tell a story.

Ace is a true inspiration. he himself has stated he can't play and is musically illiterate, as he put it, but still made it. damn Ace, I'd say Shock Me, but you already have. you can call him a terrible player but Ace is what keeps young guys like me from putting the axe down

As a Bass player I enjoyed watching Ace's instructing method, very explanatory and very clear to see how he's playing it and with variations as well. This guy still knows how to play and knows his stuff. In my opinion I think the mud slinging about his skills and playing ability from the Kiss camp are very unfounded. Good on you Ace for still being involved in the music industry, you don't need to be in Kiss to be great, you've proved that in so many ways through out the years, the reason musicians respect you.

Really great guy and thank you for sharing that story with us! Rock on Ace you're the best! I'm sure glad that I lived in the time when these guys were rockin! When they get into your heart and soul it's hard to imagine these guys not being around anymore playing together anymore. I still listen to their live stuff and imagine myself when I was a 12-year-old boy back watching that concert for the first time. I was in awe at the spectacle! I don't think the experience will ever leave me. 😊 🎸⚡⚡
