This session is a fantastic way of showing how overlooking keywords can make us choose wrong answers or make it extremely difficult to eliminate the wrong ones. Furthermore, @Harsha does a fantastic job in explaining the importance of keywords and his excitement to convey the learnings make it even more interesting and easier to capture the learnings. Great job e-GMAT! Keep it up!💥

Hi @Q4 from the GDP passage what exactly does 'that may otherwise' mean would you please help. Thank you.
@harshavardhanrajendrababu53513 жыл бұрын
Hey Venkat! Glad you enjoyed the session. "A high national GDP can mask problems that may otherwise be present.". The intended meaning of the sentence is simply that by looking at high GDP, one can lose sight of problems that may be present. Otherwise actually means in another situation. "that may otherwise" means - If one was not looking at the high GDP number, one would see the presence of these problems. I think this answer choice can be worded slightly better - it is still the only correct choice for this question :). Harsha (e-GMAT)

1:41:21 Does "widely observed" not imply a probability that "excessive consumption is accompanied by obesity and high BP" as opposed to just a possibility!?
@dakshaldhere42893 жыл бұрын
also then doesn't a widely observed possibility mean a probability!?
@harshavardhanrajendrababu53513 жыл бұрын
Hey Dakhshal, Good question - but we cannot infer probability from 'widely observed". Even if we say P >0.5 is "probable", widely observed - we do not know from this if the number of observations is enough to warrant a high probability!. The only thing we can be sure of is that - there are many observations of the coincidence - excessive consumption happening along with obesity and high BP. Hope this helps!
