Mauricio Naranjo Angel, here is some interesting information that I didn't know posted by someone: Linn never dated Ulf, if that's what you're implying. She and he used to mess around with each other playfully like kids in better times, but it was strictly as friends. It was only Jenny who dated Ulf for a few months before they called it off. Ulf certainly seemed attracted to and interested in Linn (who wouldn't be?), but while she enjoyed working and goofing off with him, his wild lifestyle frankly disgusted her, so she never could date him, and she is also grossed out that Jenny ever did, saying that Jenny had poor taste (as a teenager). :)

What was really unprofessional about Ulf and for that matter Jonas was how they disrespected the contributions of Linn and Jenny. Linn eventually left, and Jenny was kicked out of the band against her will (illegally, I think). The jerks then replaced them with two new girls, whom they treated like objects and then dumped like trash when their album and tour lost money. Linn and Jenny have forgiven Jonas as their brother (after much apologizing and groveling on his part, I imagine), but working with him and Ulf is something they both no longer wish to do. And for his part, it sure looks like Jonas won't be doing anything, as Ace of Base, without Linn from now on (can't succeed without her, which he learned the hard way).

As a fan, I hated learning about all of this. There is a huge divide between the girls and the guys, with the girls being genuine sweeties and the guys being arrogant, greedy, controlling jackasses. Linn dejó Ace of Base en 2003, desde 1998 a 2003 estaba pero como segunda voz en las canciones y en los pocos shows que hizo aparecía haciendo que tocaba un teclado pero ni siquiera haciendo la mímica de cantar. No quería seguir siendo parte de la fama pero sí de cantar para los discos. Jenny se fue en 2010 cuando Jonas y Ulf decidieron renovar a ella por dos nuevas cantantes, las de este video. Según Jenny, a ella no le avisaron que no sería más parte del trío (en ese entonces habían quedado ella y ellos dos).

What a poor cover of the real Ace of Base's song! Really, what was the point of this? I guess Jonas and Ulf began to ask the same question themselves. The band never were anything without Linn, and they certainly were no longer Ace of Base here. It's over, guys (unless Linn has a near-miraculous change of heart). Make a new band (of a different name) with new singers if you will, but stop kidding yourselves like this (they already have--it's just rhetoric on my part to remind them).

You just quoted a comment that I had made myself, but thanks in any case. :) I just wrote quite a long response to you elaborating on how Jenny got kicked out, at least to the best of my knowledge. Additionally, there is a video interview, in Swedish, somewhere on KZbin in which Jenny directly either said or acknowledged that she had been kicked out of Ace of Base against her will. The interviewer was shocked and appalled that the guys would do that to her (based on how she kept bringing it up), and assumed that it was because they wanted younger girls, which might have been true. Jonas and Ulf deny that age was an issue, but in any case there is no doubt that they wanted a racier, overtly sexier image, and obviously this was something neither Linn nor Jenny would agree with at any age. Creative control was the main dispute between the girls (Linn and Jenny) and the guys, although it is quite possible that they also disagreed strongly on the band's image. Jonas and Ulf evidently wanted to dress like pimps and have the singers portrayed as their prostitutes (looks like that to me) or at least very submissive women who don't have any taste in men nor any class, and Linn and Jenny definitely weren't going to give them that, ever. So I guess Jenny got kicked out in part because she refused to put out. She's your sister, Jonas. That's just gross. And that band image you and Ulf wanted was most definitely *not* Ace of Base.
