They both wanna do what they want with no barriers and no chains except one I guess is like monarchy style like one king and many commoners and the royal family stays in power, and the other is like a meritocracy like what you get is based off your merit, so if u made it to the new world, u have the freedoms that that affords you, if u became king of the pirates then u have the freedoms that that afford u. Sengoku is 100% correct in what he's saying about Whitebeard making Ace king, and not the other way around. Ace is the one who was mistaken. Sengoku isn't making anything up at all. Remember they are rivals of the old era. Sengoku would probably know Whitebeard's character pretty well. Also Whitebeard did not go through the gates at all. Remember that the inside of the gates are like the backdoor on the governments side. Whitebeard showed up from the front of Marineford, just like Luffy went to the front of Enies Lobby to save Robin.

Second in command only means the second ship in whitebeards crew, Ace is the captain of that. It could have been first or third, whichever position was open for Ace. These words don't define the priority of members.

Oda has told us why Ace is named Ace in his Vivre Card reveals(side story/extra info things). But it's never been mentioned in the anime or manga to this day. I'll just leave it at that because it might be added into things later on.

After we find out that Ace is Gold Roger's son - we see little resemblances between them. Not just the hair, physically Ace looks more like his mother (especially around the eyes). But....his expressions. Little things here and there, even that smile he gave Garp when he said "Whitebeard is my only father, got that old man?" - I can see Roger in it.
